Trail Guide For Montreal and Quebec:

Please not that there will be many ad ons to this page. Furthermore there is already a trial guide for quebec. This is a list which I have made and only relates to trails which I have tried myself.

1. P'tit Train du Nord
I really like this trail. It is over 200 km long and goes all the way north. You can get onto it at any point and you can do any part of the trail you want. It is free to bike on it but parking at some points may cost 5$ or so. If you like nature it is the best trail there is. The trail is very flat. An old 10 speed could easily do this trail. The surface is very fine gravel with a rise of 2 feet per 100 feet. There are many shops along side the trail, mostly typical small country stores and antique shops. It winds its way through all the small towns as you go north and you can always find a small motel for the night. If you want a slow day time ride or want to have a long and extended trip without the worry of being on the highway, this is the place.

2.Bromont
If you like down hill or you like cross country this is the Best place in Quebec. I am planning to get season tickets to this place. Let me know if you want some and we can maybe get better rates as a group. It is about 20$ for a day lift ticket. 8$ to use the park for cross country and about $90 for the whole season. You should check with them for exact prices. Just follow the links on my main page. This place has great trails which are well kept. There is a bike shop with repairs. They have about 20-30 bike wash stations for your bikes. I have never had to wait to wash my bike. There are trails for all levels. The lift wait is maybe 5 minutes awhen it gets really bad and 5 seconds most of the time. This is a MTB place. I think that it is about the best in the region. There are trails for all levels. It is a place you should try at least once before you get a season ticket anywhere else.

3.Tremblant
Ok here's the word. This place was good for skiing a while back and then they built this super resort type town with the whole little "Swiss"  motif. and in turn raised the prices on everything. The place is packed with tourists. It is a real pain to get your bike to the lift because you have to walk it through the whole little town. There are only 5 or 6 trails and they come together as 3 main tails. They are very new. Mostly covered with soft sand because erosion and rain has not washed away the covering . This means you are biking most of the time on a very new trail with no grip for your tires. In total this makes all the trails much harder then they look at first. There is a bike shop but  they only have 3 bike washes and they are about 500 meters from the parking lot. This meant that after walking my  bike to the lift and going down the 1 or 2 ok trails they had I had to walk back through the town and wait for the bike wash. Then wash my bike and ride down a dirt road to the lot to put it in the truck. Now if you didn't know, there is nothing that picks up dirt like a wet bike on a dirt road. By the time I got to the lot my bike needed another wash.
As a last point the food cost too much for what they had and the wait was way too long.
This is a tourist place. It is not a MTB place. If you want to have a day out and maybe do a little biking this is a place you might like. For some people this all they need and I respect that. I don't go for it as much because I like a good work out and this place didn't do it for me. This still could be a great place but they would have to change a few things. 1. More bike washes closer to the lot. 2. more trails and an easier way to get to the lift.
