Our dog
Crickette died this morning. He waited until our son Matthew
had just left for school. He seemed to know how hard it would be for
Matt if
he was still at home. We got Crickette as a pup and raised him and
Matt
together. They were great friends and even before Crickette passed he
would
still go for walks with Matt though they were shorter and slower each
year.
We will sorely miss Crickette as he was the best dog we ever had. He
always
had time for you even though you sometimes didn't have time to take
him for
his walk. He would just put his chin in your lap and be satisfied with
just
a mere pat and flimsy excuse as to why you were too busy or too tired.
Close
to the end Matt took him every night for a short walk. I think that
this will
help Matt deal with his loss as they were together almost to the end.
Oh,
Crickette you know how much we will miss you. We all said Goodbye last
night.
I sat with you for hours brushing your once shiny coat, giving you
sips of
water when you needed it. When you at last fell asleep. I covered you
with
your favorite blanket and made sure you were warm. I don't think we
will
ever find a dog as wonderful as you. The girls cried their eyes out
after
they said Goodbye last night and Rick cried too. He will miss you so.
Rick
loved you so much almost as much as Matt. My heart will never be the
same
because of you and I will remember you always. Well, it is goodbye old
friend.
We are taking you to our property to be buried. I will put your
favorite
blanket and a special poem. Take care sweet Crickette until we meet
again.
Love, Tara, Rick Talia , Carissa, Gonka Poppa, Zoe Kitty, and your
best friend Matt.
