In Memory of our Beloved Skittles....
In 1981 we decided to
go to the SPCA in search of a cat, when we got there, we walked by
your cage and there you were sitting so quiet in the corner while
all the other dogs were yapping away. Our eyes met and that
began the wonderful journey of the next 20 years. We brought
you home and you met your best friend, our three year old daughter
Jennifer. That day was the beginning of an inseparable
friendship. You were there on all those rainy nights cuddled
up beside her to keep the monsters away. You were there when
she started school, you were there when she sat up late doing her
homework and worrying about a test the next day, all the school
proms and then you were there when her loving boyfriend proposed to
her. On September 14, 2001, she was there for you when you
looked into her eyes and told her that you could go on no longer,
she held you close as you took you last breath and her tears fell
upon you, but the tears we have all shed are not only tears of
sadness but tears of love. Don't worry sweetheart for you will
also be there in June, on the most important day of her life, her
wedding day, because as she says "I do" to the man she
will marry, you will be sitting there right beside her on your
pedestal.
You
have taught us so much over the last 20 years, especially how to
love. You have brought nothing but joy into our lives.
We know that you are doing okay, and you are looking down
on us from the Rainbow Bridge, but please let us grieve for awhile
longer, because when you left us, you took a part of our hearts with
you and broken hearts don't mend that quickly. We know
the pain will ease someday but your memory will always be a part of
our lives.
Please
know that there was never a day go bye that you were not loved as we
know that you also loved us each and every day. Thank you so
very much for all your comfort and understanding along the way.
And Thank You for letting us be a part of your life.
You
will be greatly missed...
