Animal Testing
Traditionally, animals have been used to ensure the safety of our consumer products and drugs.  Animals are force fed chemicals.  They have them rubbed in their eyes and on their skin which causes extreme pain and blindness.  Animals are killed and tortured daily, unecessarily.  These methods of product testing are archaic practices that need to be stopped.  There are many more acurate ways of testing products without using animals.  Many companies have ceased animal testing, but we are still a long way from putting an end to it completely.  Most animals used in testing aren't even similar physiologically to humans.  These tests provide us with little or no relavent information.  Animals are not tools for us to use as we see fit.  They are living things that feel pain the same as we do.  When we use them for medical research we justify it by saying that it saves human lives.  And in some cases it does, but in many it doesnt.  Many drugs that aid humans have harmful effects on animals and animal testing provides researchers with little useful data.  By saying that the research saves humans lives, we are completely disregarding the lives of all the animals that are killed.  They should have just as much right to live as we do.  They want to survive just as we do, and to kill an animal to save a person seems selfish.  Please, stop supporting companies that test on animals.

Here's a fact you should know: Every minute in the U.S.  alone, 26 animals die to test new shampoos, laxatives, hairsprays, and oven cleaners.

They sure seem happy to see people, wouldn't you say?  They're the "lucky" ones though. At least they have each other.

Here's some more products of so called "scientific research." People justify animal testing, but the truth is there are new more accurate methods of testing that don't require the use of animals.

This is someone's idea of a science experiment.  The two heads continually attacked each other so it had to be killed.  Tell me: what did this contribute to science?

This monkey was intentionally infected with syphilis, and many of these cats were embalmed while they were still alive.  It's cheaper that way.
