This is probably my best sketch of Baern. The drips are from candles (we often light a candle for ambience during games). Baern is the brother of Darian. He was the strong, silent type. Often appearing more intelligent than he was, Baern was likeable and mature. He was slightly older than his sister. He was slain by the Yarl of Nordheim Frost Giants. It happened in the throne room, and Baern was killed instantly by a giant axe which almost cut him in two vertically. It was a brave and heroic death fighting with his friends. Darian turned rather pale and fainted when she found out. She almost fell down the chapel stairs (Lenear caught her).
Baern with a pony tail. This was how he looked escorting a princess (to Nyrond to wed King Belvour IV). They stopped in an elven city and were treated to Faye wine.
This is Baern as a boy. He would have looked like this at age fourteen, when he went with his father to defend Lamonia against attack. He truly followed in his father's footsteps.
This is a rough sketch of Baern with a grimace, near the end of his life. This is how he might have looked up at the giant that slayed him. The sword is "BrightNail", his trusty (rusty?) +1 sword. He was seriously outclassed in this adventure, but would not take the advice of his companions to stay home. This sketch was actually on the front of the character sheet (you can see some of the stats). The "AD" you see stands for "D E A D" which was scrawled on the front of his sheet in large block letters.
