SpOnGe'S Poetry

tonight......
tonight is the night
the sky will fall
noone will know it
as stars cover
us all with the lights
of times passed by
but in the end
maybe this is all we get
the last of the ecstatic pain
that is the love of the heart
the semi-knowledge of mind and soul
and when the sky hits home
and when life leaves
time stays and is our only companion
tonight we will dream
tomorrow we will die again
the night is life
soothing dark, leading light

Untitled

on the day of the dead i will too die
to join the ranks of the youngest
to fight in the wars of old
will i walk the ranks
and ready myself for combat
i will watch again as by scores we are lost
lost from our way as people
some claimed by gods and others by greed
i weep for the many who never make it past the first march-step
the ones who are tangled in larger powers
before they know that they should fight back
i will be lost with the rest
and on the day of the dead i shall die as well
for it is unnatural
to make that straight line from a to b
we all are lost from the path
as the essence of the war of old is lost to our minds
we all break rant one by one
only to find the path once more
and once more lose it again
and when the end draws near and when things are come full circle
we find we have once again joined rank
though the battle is not of the whole but of the one
out paths have all converged
most battered and bruised
and torn by enemy fire
this is the day of the dead, we have all passed on
this war of old to the ranks who came after us
the circle comes round again
as we join the ranks of the youngest
fighting in the oldest hills

Adeline............ in the summer

it feels the wind at its back
the light spilling over the world
in soft clarity
the scents of life both warm
and cool
swirling, alive
caressing the skin
the brook babbles not of
the gossip of nature
but of the lives of the
boulders over and through which it runs
a castle of soft milky gold
(at one in the hillside)
for its creatures
fields, trees and quite heather
its elegant gown and coat tails
the magenta zenith fades to
purple twilight as a starlight
cloak wraps around its shoulders
all is one, all is at peace
in the sylvan land of Adeline
