Background: Anecdote Man, the Master of Ennui. It is said he came out of the West in the elder days, and..no wait thats Gandalf. No one really knows whence came Anecdote Man...and none dare ask. You see, Anecdote Man has an extraordinary power which he neither understands nor realizes he posseses. It is the power of Ennui. The Power to bore. To cite an example, once a man asked the Master of Ennui how to get from point A to point B. AM's answer was simply this. "I remember the best Christmas ever. On Christmas Eve our parents gathered us before the fire and told us that we didn’t have enough money for Christmas presents this year…At first I was saddened, but without the call of the presents inspiring us to greed, we passed the day as it was meant to be passed…in love..and friendship. Later that night I went up to my parents room to thank them for such a wonderful Christmas..but…when I opened the door..I found they couldn’t hear me over the roar of their brand new 76 inch TV with Dolby surround sound and satellite reception." The lucky ones get off with a simple "Once I was a little boy..a little wooden boy." But the terror inspired by his awesome power to bore keeps most scrambling for cover the second the man takes the bubble pipe out of his mouth.
