Can I scream yet? Vincent is by far my favorite character in Final Fantasy 7. Although he is really over done. I guess the fact that not much is said about him in the game makes it easy to use his unknown past as a story. We never know just how close he and Lucrecia were. We never know if she dies, or if she does love him. Personally I have the ability to manipulate my own mind (which takes a lot of skill and stupidity believe me...isn't that an oxy-moron?) therefore I don't really like Lucrecia any more. She seemes like too much of a weenie. She doesn't seem good enough for Vincent, so I created Cassia. To me she just seems so much cooler. I mean go read Lady Macbeth's prequel to my story and you get a much better look at just how cool she really is. (Oh yeah and by the time you're done with this page you're gonna think I have this major fixation with Vincent and Cassia...well...you're right!) But Vincent is definately cool. I love his quiteness and calmness. I don't like how he's protrayed in a lot of stories though. Many people show him as though he's not even a human being and he has no feelings. I personally think there's still emotion there under his cold exterior. (warning severely large pics!) |

Loving AgainVincent awoke with a start and sat up in bed. The sheets were entangled in his legs and he was covered in a cold sweat. It wasn't often these days that Vincent had a nightmare, but when they came they were bad. For a moment he shut his eyes and thought of the last thing he'd seen in his dream. Vincent had been holding Hojo up above his head with his claw stabbed through the twisted scientist's chest. He remembered the blood flowing down his arm and the screams of pain form Hojo. At the moment that was the only thing of the dream that he could remember, the rest was all just a blur. Vincent sat on the edge of his bed and held his head in his good hand. Killing Hojo seemed like such an empty thing. He knew that he should be glad that he was dead, but it all seemed like such a waste. Hojo had ruined so many lives Vincent's included. He never liked being reminded of his claw and how he got it. It just made him think more about how he could never be fully human ever again. Murderer. That's what Vincent had become even before he ever met Hojo. He had the ability to kill and not care. Now he thought of how many lives -he- had ruined. One job he had to pull off as a Turk was to kill a certain person who made several threats to the president. Vincent carried out his duty, but he did it at the man's house. His family had been present including a six-year-old boy. There had been no remorse in his heart. He didn't care who he killed or why he just did it. In his own mind he had changed now. He would never become an assassin ever again. He would never again be a cold-blooded killer. Never again. His life was different now. There was finally peace in his heart as well as love. A soft noise from the corner alerted Vincent and he immediately grabbed his shotgun from next to his bed. Then he sighed heavily as he realized that it was only Cassia. She was asleep on the couch next to the window that was now open and a fierce wind was blowing in because of an approaching storm. Vincent pulled on a pair of pants and quietly walked over to her sleeping form. The moonlight caressed her body and Vincent wanted to just sweep her up into his arms and kiss her. He knew how lucky he was to have her. There was no way that he could ever repay all that she'd done for him, but Vincent swore to do everything for her for the rest of his life. He gently scooped her up and carried her to his bed. When she felt the soft sheets she smiled and nuzzled her cheek against the pillow. Vincent pulled the covers up over her shoulders and looked at her for a moment. There was a certain beauty to her. Sure physically she was drop dead gorgeous, but there was an inner beauty as well that far surpassed her good looks. Vincent leaned over and kissed her softly. Cassia was immediately awake and she touched his cheek with the back of her hand. Vincent pulled back and looked into her eyes. They had once been a soft brown, but they were now a mysterious green. That was a completely different story, and Vincent was quite happy to put all of that behind him. Vincent was not worthy of her love though. He'd ignored her for so long as he'd constantly followed Lucrecia. This woman had been through so much hardship in her life that Vincent wondered how she kept going. There had even been a period of time in which he'd hated her. When Vincent had been in love with Lucrecia if she'd ever hated him it would have ruined him. Now Vincent gently touched Cassia's face and cursed himself for everything he'd ever done to this poor woman. She was too good for him. "I'm sorry I didn't mean to fall asleep." Cassia yawned and stretched as Vincent continued to stare into her face. The bond between them was incredible. There was a love that surpassed even Cloud and Tifa's marriage. Vincent leaned down and brushed his lips against hers. She pushed his hair back and ran her fingers along his neck. The touch sent shivers through his body and he wrapped his arms around her. Suddenly there was a rumble of thunder and Cassia turned her face to the window. Vincent continued to kiss her cheek and her neck. Then he reached down and took her hand in his own. Love had changed him. For so long he'd been quiet and cold towards everyone. This woman's unconditional love for him had changed his heart forever. In the beginning she'd never asked for his love in return. She just wanted to do everything to him. Vincent kissed her knuckles and she turned unexpectedly to him. "What's wrong Vincent?" She stroked his hair and eventually pulled his chin up as he'd done to her so many times. His crimson eyes were suddenly illuminated as there was another flash of lightening. His thoughts had turned back to his dream. What was it that startled him and made him wake up? The fact that he was killing Hojo wouldn't have done it. There had to be something else. He shut his eyes and tried to remember. Then it hit him. Hojo hadn't been screaming he was laughing. Why? It had something to do with Cassia. Even though he couldn't remember, Vincent knew that it must have been awful. He couldn't ever imagine anyone hurting Cassia. He would never allow it. Suddenly he heard Cassia gasp and he snapped his eyes open to see what was wrong. Cassia was dabbing at a spot on her leg where she was bleeding. It wasn't bad, but Vincent ran to the bathroom and got a wet towel and brought it back to her. How could he have been so careless? He knew that this darn claw could easily cut anything. He must have cut her when he carried her over. "Cassia please forgive me. I was just being careless. I'm so smmph!" Cassia silenced him with a kiss, which, needless to say, completely surprised him. For a moment he didn't respond, but then he wrapped his arms around her and just held her. They sat there like that for a moment until Cassia slowly pulled away. Their eyes stayed locked and neither of them spoke. Then Vincent came to his senses and tied the towel around her leg. He knew that Cassia totally forgave him, but he always had trouble forgiving himself. When he was finished Cassia grabbed his hand and began to pull him outside. Vincent wasn't paying attention to where they were going; all that he noticed was Cassia's limp. Once she realized that he was now completely obsessed with her little cut she turned to face him and grabbed both sides of his face. "You have some real guilt problems, you know that?" He laughed lightly, and Cassia ran to one of the broom closets. Vincent stood there with one eyebrow raised and just waited for her return. What on earth could she be doing now? Each day she surprised him by doing something strange, and as he could see today would be no exception. It was just another thing that made him love her a little more. Cassia soon returned with two broom handles. "Care for a little one on one?" She looked at him mischievously, and he slowly shook his head. Cassia knew that he was about to start going on about her leg again, so she slowly walked up to him and toyed with a bit of his hair. He froze right where he was, and he was completely captivated by her. She started to lean in to kiss him again, but when he leaned forward as well Cassia quickly swooped down with her staff and knocked his legs out from under him. Before Vincent could retaliate, Cassia ran outside to the main square of Nibelheim. "What are you trying to do play lightening rod?" Cassia laughed at his jest and twirled her staff in her hands. Vincent charged at her from the doorway but Cassia easily side stepped and kicked his legs out again. This time she purposely fell on him and pinned his arms down with her staff. Then she leaned in to kiss him. As he tried to lift his head to kiss her she kept pulling her head back as she taunted him. Finally he pulled his arms free and wrapped his arms around her and kissed her. He loved her so much, and that would never ever change. Their laughter filled the morning air as they continued to battle. They were a perfect match for each other, physically speaking that is. Other than that they were still a perfect match. Vincent and Cassia were best friends, lovers soul mates. Vincent would no longer be tortured by his past; he was at peace at last. |
