History: The past of the young woman known as Mimete
remains shrouded in mystery. Aside from the fact that her real name appears
to have been Mimi Hanyuu, no details have ever been revealed about her
private life, neither who she really is nor where she really comes from,
not even how she came to be associated with the evil organization known
as the Death Busters or what her motives were for joining them in their
sinister quest to purge the Earth of all life by summoning Master Pharaoh
90 and triggering the apocalyptic cataclysm known as the Silence. A member
of a quintet of young female scientists and sorceresses collectively known
as the Witches 5, the cruel, vindictive, and highly emotional Mimete was
initially shown her way around the laboratory and taught how to perform
her job by the group's senior member Eudial. While known to have conducted
scientific research of an unspecified nature during her tenure, she apparently
chose to focus her attention on magic instead of science, eventually becoming
an accomplished sorceress in her own right.
While it remains uncertain exactly how long Mimete served under the employ
of the Death Busters before being summoned to active duty, she apparently
grew increasingly weary of Eudial's poor track record against the Sailor
Soldiers and her impatience to be promoted to an active position in the
evil organization eventually drove her to secretly plot her fellow witch's
downfall while maintaining a cute and innocent demeanor and pretending
to support her - to a moderate degree - in front of their compatriots in
a perfect demonstration of her inherantly deceptive and two-faced nature.
After having received a phone call from Professor Tomoe to discuss some
unspecified matter - though it is believed to have concerned the possibility
of her replacing Eudial - the ambitious Mimete's attitude towards her now
rival took a more sinister turn as she began to play cruel pranks on her
fellow witch, such as sprinkling tacks into the latter's slippers and emptying
a jar of laboratory snails into her locker, even going so far as to discuss
the possibility of her promotion with the other members of the Witches
5 with the full knowledge that Eudial was secretly listening in on their
conversation. Her campaign reached its deadly climax when she sabotaged
the brakes on Eudial's white hatchback, causing the latter to crash through
the guardrail of an elevated roadway during her attempted flight from the
Marine Cathedral following yet another one of her disasterous encounters
with the Sailor Soldiers and plunge off a cliff to a watery death far below,
thereby ensuring that she would become the Death Busters' new active field
agent by default. Shortly thereafter, she went to inform Professor Tomoe
of the appearance of the Holy Grail - though he was apparently already
aware of this occurance - and suggested that one of their number, namely
his daughter Hotaru, might be able to make use of its power for their benefit.
Despite the extreme and immoral measures Mimete had taken in order to secure
her newfound position, she demonstrated remarkably little interest in the
Death Busters' agenda, preferring instead to spend much of her time pursuing
her hobbies as a professional otaku (obsessed fan) and okake
(idol chaser)...even during Professor Tomoe's briefing for the Witches
5 on inherant strategy and proper use of the very Daimons she herself would
be making use of in order to acquire Heart Crystals from human beings for
later conversion into the energy required to feed and awaken the Messiah
of Silence. After being caught in the act of reading magazines and suffering
through a mild scolding for her actions, she quickly assured Professor
Tomoe that she had already found a target with an extraordinarily pure
heart, and - perhaps seeing a perfect way for her to combine the business
and pleasure aspects of her life, as it were - decided to go after a young
actor named Yousaku Eda, whom she admired.
Upon her arrival on the set of his latest movie "Gunman At Red Fuji"
that was being filmed in Juuban Park, Mimete decided to try and present
Yousaku Eda with her homemade cake before stealing his Heart Crystal -
as to do so immediately would have resulted in his eventual death and deprived
her of that opportunity - but was mistreated and had her hard work literally
crushed underfoot by some radical and temperamental fans of his. In spite
of her misfortune, the incident had apparently caught the attention of
Yousaku, whose kindness towards her and gallent gesture in tasting her
cake in spite of its unfortunate condition erroneously convinced Mimete
that he had fallen in love with her at first site. A short time later,
after watching the filming of one of the movie's scenes and while attempting
to get his autograph, the witch discovered much to her shock he had a romantic
interest, namely his female costar Lily. Enraged, Mimete immediately released
the Daimon Western to steal Yousaku Eda's pure heart, which she eventually
did in spite of the arrival of the Inner Soldiers, though not before helping
her to enact some small measure of revenge against the overzealous admirers
of his that had been responsible for tormenting her earlier. Prevented
from departing the scene with her prize by Sailor Uranus and Sailor Neptune,
Mimete instructed Western to take Chibi Usa - whom she had spotted hiding
in some nearby bushes with her newfound friend Hotaru Tomoe - hostage in
order to secure their escape, but her plan was foiled due to the timely
intervention of Sailor Pluto her Daimon destroyed by Super Sailor Moon's
"Spiral Moon Heart Ache". Suddenly outnumbered by her adversaries,
Mimete burst into frustrated tears and fled the scene in humiliation. Unfortunately
for her, she fared no better on her next outing - during which she went
after one Ukon Katakuriafter attending an autograph session for his new
book "Drop Drop" - and actually nearly ended up strangling the
Daimon made for the occasion, U Henshuu, to death after the monster ran
out of weapons to fight the Sailor Soldiers with.
When Professor Tomoe next encountered Mimete to see how her schedule was
progressing, she told him of her latest target, idol singer Ginta Araki,
though the several photos and publications of him she accidentally dropped
in the process led him to voice his long unspoken suspicion about her mixing
her hobby up with her work and that such a combination would make it difficult
for her to be a successful member of the Death Busters. Teary-eyed, she
told him that she was honestly just trying to do her job and that she believed
that acquiring the pure hearts of famous individuals would provide valuable
information on establishing their Messiah of Silence, though her sincerity
in the matter was highly suspect. Regardless of her true motives, her demeanor
brightened upon seeing the renewed confidence he displayed in her in light
of her explanation and went ahead with her plan.
In her human identity of Mimi Hanyuu, Mimete went to the Minato District
Cultural Center where the so-called "Heroine Audition" - a contest
designed to select a girl from the general public to star alongside of
Ginta Araki in his upcoming movie - was taking place, though she was disappointed
to find out that the object of her affection would not be making an appearance
that day. In the process, she found a new friend in, of all people, Minako
Aino, the alter ego of Sailor Venus, because of their similar tastes, and
their mutual pledge to give their best shot at winning left both pleasantly
surprised when they managed to make it all the way through the audtion
and became finalists. As an result of this unexpected turn of events, however,
Mimete suddenly found herself torn between performing her her duty as a
member of the Witches 5 and her dream to make her professional debut alongside
of Ginta Araki as an actress, ultimately deciding to go for stardom, and,
in one of the few instances of complete honesty she has ever openly displayed,
seemed genuinely willing to do absolutely anything - even sacrifice her
entire career with the Death Busters and rescind her evil ways - for this
one chance at happiness. Unfortunately, it was not meant to be, and she
narrowly missed gaining the favor of the 80% of the audience that was required
in order to win the contest. Her hopes crushed, she collapsed to her knees
on stage, and, perhaps sensing that the road she had chosen had no turns,
knocked away Minako's concenrned hand in a fit of anger and frustration
and revealed her true self as Mimete and a member of the Death Busters
in front of the entire audience. Announcing her intention to steal Araki's
pure heart, she unleashed the Daimon U Tahimee and rendered all those present
unconscious with the power of her "Charm Buster". Following a
brief battle - during which her right hand was injured after Sailor Moon
used her "Moon Tiara Action" to knock Mimete's staff away and
she argued over the final points of proper okake behavior with Sailor
Venus - she was once more forced to flee in defeat after her incompetant
Daimon was destroyed. She later apologized to Professor Tomoe for her failure,
seeming genuinely remorseful, though he simply shrugged it off and said
that there would always be tomorrow.
Unfortunately, Mimete's tomorrows showed little improvement in her luck.
Her attempts to steal the pure hearts of actor Yu Kazama, botanist Yoshiki
Kurebayashi, and athlete Shun Hayase all ended in failure and the destruction
of the Daimons U Tomodachi, U Baara, and U Ndoukai, though she did seem
to learn something of responsibility in the middle case when she adhered
to the target that had been assigned to her despite finding Mamoru Chiba
to be a cuter potential victim for her tastes :) Even so, she seemed
to have quickly forgotten much of what she had learned when an impromptu
and irresponsible experiment of hers with the ovenlike device Professor
Tomoe used to make Daimons resulted in the creation of U Ikasaman, a monster
whose very existence created a massive warp in the local fabric of the
space-time continuum and almost ended up costing the Death Busters dearly
when Hotaru Tomoe - the human host for Mistress 9, the Messiah of Silence
- was nearly left trapped in an otherdimensional realm along with Chibi
Usa and the other Inner Soldiers
Shortly after her failed attempt to acquire the Heart Crystal of D.J. Thomas
Harris and the loss of the Daimon U Chouten, Mimete telephoned Professor
Tomoe to inform him of her decision to go after famed physicist Sergei
Ajimov - who would be giving a formal lecture at the Infinity Academy later
that day - but was quite surprised when he told her that her proposed target
did not figure into his plans and promised to call her back when he made
his decision. Feigning understanding yet secretly suspicious of his sudden
change of heart, she activated a hidden bug she had planted in his laboratory
and listened in on a private conversation between Professor Tomoe and Tellu
where he admitted that while he bore no real onus against Mimete herself
and actually considered her to be a hard worker, he had decided to provide
Tellu with an opportunity to prove herself and the possibility of increasing
her rank in light of her compatriot's several unsuccessful missions. Outraged
at the revelation, Mimete phoned Tellu and used a voice modifier to disguise
herself as Professor Tomoe in order to trick her fellow witch into believing
that her mission had been called off, with the intention of both redeeming
herself and attaining a higher rank in the Death Busters hierarchy by not
only successfully completing the assignment herself but killing
the Sailor Soldiers as well.
After electrocuting a suspicious security guard with a homemade tazer,
Mimete temporarily shut off the power to the auditorium in the middle of
Sergei Ajimov's lecture in order to make her grand entrance, and, upon
having rendered the entire sudience unconscious with the power of her "Charm
Buster", released the Daimon U Pasokon to claim her target's Heart
Crystal. In spite of some excellent teamwork between her and the monster
with which they managed to take out or incapacitate most of the Inner Soldiers,
U Pasokon was distracted by Sailor Chibi Moon's "Pink Sugar Heart
Attack" - with a little help from Tuxedo Mask - long enough for Sailor
Moon to transform into Super Sailor Moon and use her "Rainbow Moon
Heart Ache" to destroy the Daimon
When Super Sailor Moon demanded Mimete's surrender, however, the young
witch, for the first time in her recorded career, stood her ground in her
determination to prove herself and be rid of her adversaries once and for
all. Contemptuous of the resistance they could offer given the injuries
most of them had sustained during their battle with her and U Pasokon,
she activated the Witches' Electric Warp - a weapon she had borrowed from
Eudial's arsenal for just this occasion - and vanished before the surprised
eyes of her adversaries, only to manifest seconds later in the form of
a massive television image before them, having apparently been converted
into a being of pure energy by the device, her powers vastly augmented
in the process. Before she was able to make use of her newly acquired abilities
against the Sailor Soldiers, however, she was interrupted by none other
than Tellu herself, who, unbeknownst to Mimete, had been secretly spying
on her the activities of compatriot all this time in order to confirm her
own suspicions about her fellow witch's attempt to play her for a fool,
having chosen this moment to emerge from her hiding place in the
shadows to offer some false praise and chide her for having stolen what
was originally her assignment. Mimete's contempt and anger at being interrupted
in her moment of triumph soon gave rise to realization and then to dawning
horror when Tellu reminded her of exactly why Eudial herself had never
made use of the Witches' Electric Warp: if ever someone disconnected the
machine from its power source while it was in use, then anyone inside it
would vanish from existence forever, never to return.
Despite Mimete's desperate apologies and frantic pleas to save her
own life, the vindictive Tellu, before the horrified eyes of all those
present, both figuratively and literally yanked the plug on Mimete, who
barely had time to cry out before the electrical oblivion of the Witches'
Electric Warp shutting down claimed her as its own.
The last laugh in this macabre matter of life and death, however,
ultimately belonged not to Tellu, but, appropriately enough, to Eudial,
who had - in an almost poetic sense - had her revenge on her murderer from
beyond the grave.
Height: Estimated
at 5'2'' (157 cm); never accurately measured
Weight: Estimated at 109 lbs. (49 kg);
never accurately weighed
Eyes: Orange
Hair: Orange
Abilities: Mimete is known to have possessed certain
magical powers - allowing her, for example, to mystically cause her costume
and staff to appear out of nowhere - though the full extent of these abilities
remains unknown. Arguably the least intelligent and technologically inclined
of the Witches 5, she did, in all fairness, display a not insignificant
amount of knowledge on both the use and proper operation of computers,
electronics, and mechanical devices - including camera rigs - and seemed
to have a special talent for acoustics and using sound equipment, though
it remains doubtful that ever she made any breakthroughs or major contributions
to that particular field of comparable significance to those made by the
other witches in their respective areas of expertise. She seemed to be
a good cook and halfway respectable singer and actress, though. :)
Paraphernalia: Mimete's primary weapon was a staff intertwined with
a black star at one end that she employed during her "Charm Buster"
attack, though whether this power was inherant to the rod itself or whether
it was merely serving as a conduit to channel her own inherant mystical
abilities remains unknown. Aside from a pair of binoculars, monitoring
equipment, bugs, a voice modifier, a homemade tazer, and the white suitcase
she used to carry her Daimons around in, she also apparently had full access
to Eudial's equipment - including the computer program devised by the latter
to locate pure hearted individuals from a database of potential candidates
and even a device capable of converting human beings into sentient energy
known as the Witches' Electric Warp - though she rarely took advantage
of this fact and instead preferred relying on her vast collection of magazines,
fanbooks, photographs, and manga in order to select her future victims.
:) Mimete also made frequent use of a vast hall with a series of doorways
that were somehow connected - presumably mystically - to various points
all over the city of Tokyo, Japan irrespective of their actual distance
from her physical location, thus allowing her to cover great distances
almost instantaneously.
