History: Little has been revealed about the background of the cheerful girl known as Maya Touno, save that her skill at playing the o-daiko - the giant traditional Japanese drum  - is so great that she is considered to be quite proficient in playing that instrument, despite her young age.
                Impressed by the enormous talent demonstrated by Maya during a performance she attended, Rei Hino, as a representative of the "Juuban Matsuri" promotion committee, asked the young drummer if she would consider playing during the annual district-wide festival, certain that her skill and proficiency would make the celebration a success. Though somewhat uncertain and hesitant to participate at first, the hard-working, good-natured Maya ended up accepting Rei's offer, and, like any true professional wholly dedicated to their art, prepared by practicing for more than three hours in order to keep her concentration sharp and her attention focused, despite the fact that she had volunteered to perform, and, as such, wasn't getting paid for her appearance.
                Because of her pure heart - one completely dedicated to the taiko - Maya Touno was singled out by Eudial as being a potential carrier of the one of the three mystical objects collectively known as the Talismans. To verify whether or not this was true, the young drummer had her Heart Crystal extracted from her body, but it was later returned to her when it was determined that it did not contain one of them. Having made a full recovery, Maya Touno went on to perform at the "Juuban Matsuri" and is presumed to have lived up to - if not surpassed - the expectations of her audience.

Abilities: Maya Touno is an expert at playing the taiko, or drum, specifically the giant-sized version of said instrument known as the o-daiko or great drum. As befitting the demands of playing so large an instrument, she is in excellent physical and mental health.
