Muurido ( )

an amusement park mascot

is unaware that she is actually Muurido, a Youma of the Dark Kingdom

Other aliases: None known
Place of birth: Unrevealed, presumably some unspecified location
in the Dark Kingdom

Group affiliation: Dark Kingdom
Base of operations: Originally the Dark Kingdom, later Dream Land,
an amusement park located in the vicinity of Tokyo, Japan
First appearance: Pretty Soldier Sailor Moon Episode 011
Final appearance: Pretty Soldier Sailor Moon Episode 011
History: Muurido was a female Youma recruited by
Jadeite to help him gather energy from human beings in order to revive
Queen Metallia. To this end, Muurido assumed human form and posed as Princess
Dream - the adorable mascot of a newly-opened amusement park known as Dream
Land - while Jadeite himself masqueraded as a security guard at that very
same locale. The monster then proceeded to play her part to perfection,
keeping children amused with the help of a wide variety of lifelike mechanical
animals roaming the park grounds and inviting visitors to attend a special
show at the Cookie House, a storybook castle constructed according to a
cookies and candy motif. Little did any of these individuals suspect that
both the alleged performance and the sweets being offered them there were
merely part of the Youma's trap, one in which she would cloud their minds
with a hallucinogenic red fog before proceeding to drain them of their
energy. So unassumingly convincing was Muurido in her role as Princess Dream that she
managed to cause the disappearance of no less than fifty people in
this manner before her activities drew suspicion from the local media.
During one such energy-draining session, Muurido happened to make a victim
out of Ami Mizuno - better known as Sailor Mercury - an action which quickly
caught the attention of Usagi Tsukino, Rei Hino and Luna, with whom she
had come to Dream Land in order to investigate the mysterious disappearances
of the park's visitors. Confronting her two female companions in their Sailor
Soldier alter egos after they had forced their way into the Cookie House, the
monster - both in her Princess Dream as well as in her monstrous mechanical
true form - twice failed to eliminate her adversaries, the first time due
to Sailor Mars' resourcefulness and the second time as a result of the
timely intervention of Tuxedo Mask. During her third attempt to rid herself
of the Sailor Soldiers, she was disoriented by Ami - who had managed to
recover from her ordeal and transform into Sailor Mercury - after she clouded
the entire area with her "Shabon Spray", providing Sailor
Mars with the time and cover she needed to perform a surprise "Akuryou Taisan" attack from above.
Immobilized by the ofuda which had been placed on her forehead,
Muurido was subsequently destroyed though a combination of Sailor Moon's
"Moon Tiara Action" and Sailor Mars' "Fire Soul".
Height: Unknown in
both human and Youma form
Weight: Unknown in both human and Youma
form
Eyes: Blue (human form); green (Youma
form)
Hair: Gray (human form); light pink
(Youma form)
Skin: Pale green (Youma form)
Abilities: Aside from the ability to assume human form, Muurido
- both as Princess Dream and in her monstrous mechanical form - could spew
forth a massive cloud of red fog from her mouth. Possessing hallucinogenic
properties, this crimson mist would cause her victims to enter a waking
dream state and make them susceptible to the illusion-casting and energy-draining
properties of her apple.
Paraphernalia: Muurido used a hand-held device resembling a red
apple in order to shape the dream world of her mesmerized victims in whatever
manner she desired, as well as to drain them of their energy. Her control
over the minds and perceptions of these individuals was apparently dependant
on both her own concentration as well as her maintaining contact with
the magical instrument, as the illusions it generated faded almost immediately
after she was momentarily distracted and dropped it. In addition, the apple
could also be used as a remote control for the various realistic-looking
mechanical animals - among them rabbits, warthogs, deer, horses, lions,
tigers and bears ("Oh my!" ^_^;) - which otherwise freely roamed
about Dream Land. Whether these automatons were originally property of
the amusement park misappropriated by the Dark Kingdom and used as sophisticated props designed to complement Muurido's Princess Dream disguise
or served some other purpose remains unknown.
