History: Virtually no details have been revealed about either the history or the personal life of the young woman known as Katarina, save that she is both a policewoman as well as a member of the United Kingdom division of Interpol based in the city of London, England. While the world of a law enforcement officer like herself is not without its inherant dangers, it is nothing when compared to the one in which the Sailor Soldiers live, the latter being an arena filled with hideous monsters and unspeakable evils, one into which Katarina was suddenly drawn into one fateful day while pursuing what she believed to be an ordinary human criminal through the streets of London. After taking a young girl hostage in an attempt to hold her at bay, the seemingly normal man - in full view of both her and several other innocent bystanders - revealed his true nature by transforming into a grotesque green-skinned Youma of the Dark Kingdom. Before having had a chance to figure out how to deal with this strange new menace, however, Katarina found an unexpected ally in the form of Sailor V - then the only known active Sailor Soldier and without the company of her guardian cat Artemis - who quickly dealt with the monster that she had pursued all the way from Japan and rescued his captive.
Following these events, Sailor V and Katarina became the best of friends, so much so that the former even revealed and entrusted the latter with the knowledge of her secret identity of Minako Aino. After spending so much of their free time together - doing everything from touring London and going on picnics to Katarina teaching Minako how to speak the English language - their friendship grew so intimate that they began to think of each other as sisters. To their circle of two Minako soon introduced a third: a young man named Alan, who was her main love interest at the time. Together, the three of them went on several outings together, during the course of which Alan and Katarina fell in love with each other, with neither one of them ever suspecting that Minako had romantic feelings for the handsome young man as well.
Then, one day, while Sailor V and Katarina were investigating some suspicious activity at a harbor warehouse together, the former was caught in the middle of a tremendous explosion after the individual they were trailing threw a hand grenade at her when she went in ahead to investigate. The force of the blast threw the policewoman clear but also brought the entire structure crashing down in flames before her horrified eyes. Believing her friend to be dead, she sought solace and comfort in the reassuring arms of Alan, who happened upon the scene a short time later, and told him what had happened to Minako. However, unbeknownst to both of them, Sailov V had narrowly managed to survive the explosion and escape, but she, upon seeing the two of them together grieving over her apparent death, came to the sudden heartbreaking realization that Katarina and Alan were in love with one another, and, in light of this revelation, quietly left for her native Japan in her alter ego of Minako, deciding to leave well enough alone by remaining dead to them
Several months later, Katarina was surprised to learn that Minako - now operating under the code name of Sailor Venus and having since joined up with the other Sailor Soldiers - was still very much alive. Unfortunately, it was also at about this same time - though it remains uncertain exactly which one of these two events actually occured first - that she received an unwelcome visitor in the form of Kunzite, who had learned of her connection to Sailor Venus through some as yet unknown means and sought to exploit it for his own benefit. Having travelled to Tokyo, Japan in order to be reunited with her "little sister", Katarina, now under the Dark General's sinister influence, arranged a meeting with Minako in her hotel room where she tried to convince her to introduce her to the other four Sailor Soldiers so that she could allegedly help them in their battle against the forces of the Dark Kingdom. When this attempt proved unsuscessful, Kunzite used his powers to transform the young woman into her Youma alter ego of Papillon and subsequently sent her after her one time friend and ally. Nearly catching Minako off guard with a surprise attack while she sadly reminiscing due to the unpleasent memories recent events had awakened in her, the monster watched as she transformed and countered her every move as Sailor Venus since she retained her human self's memories of all her adversary's strengths and weaknesses, though the Youma herself ended up being recognized by her opponent due to the fact that she wore the very same locket that she had given Katarina as Minako for her birthday earlier that year. While Papillon succeeded in incapacitating her adversary, she was attacked by Luna and Artemis and knocked over the nearby handrail into the waters of Tokyo Bay before she had a chance to torture Sailor Venus into revealing the true identities of the remaining four Sailor Soldiers to her.
Upon emerging from the beneath the water, Papillon tracked the motorboat carrying Luna, Artemis, Sailor Venus, and Usagi Tsukino all the way to a nearby deserted luxury liner and eventually confronted the four of them following an exhaustive search of the entire ship. Angered by Katarina's actions -  both as a human being and as a Youma - Usagi transformed into Sailor Moon, and, despite a somewhat slow start, stunned the monster by striking her full force with her "Moon Tiara Action". Blinded by rage and determination to avenge Minako's heartbreak and betrayal, Sailor Moon might have ended up seriously hurting or even killing her adversary had Sailor Venus not intervened on her old friend's behalf, pleading that her human form be restored, if not because she was only being used as a pawn by the Dark Kingdom then for the sake of Alan, who loved her. In the end, Sailor Moon complied with her friend's request and used the power of her "Moon Healing Escalation" in order to transform Papillon back into Katarina.
After recovering from her ordeal, Katarina embraced Sailor Venus and apologized for the wrong she'd unintentionally inflicted upon the young girl, confessing that she had thought Minako to still be a child and had never even suspected how she'd felt about Alan. Shortly thereafter, the two parted ways once more and Katarina returned home to London, England. What has since become of her romantic relationship with Alan as well as whether or not she and Minako managed to salvage their friendship in light of these events remains remains unknown as of this writing.

Height: Estimated at 5'5'' (166 cm), never accurately measured (as both Katarina and Papillon)
Weight: Estimated at 121 lbs. (55 kg), never accurately weighed (as Katarina); unknown (as Papillon)
Eyes: Blue (as both Papillon and Katarina)
Hair: Maroon (as Papillon); brown (as Katarina)
Skin: Yellow (as Papillon)

Abilities: In her human form, Katarina possessed no known supernatural powers, though she was
presumably in excellent physical shape as befitting her occupation as a law enforcement officer. In her Youma form, Papillon possessed large butterfly wings on either side of her head which she used for either hovering, gliding, or flying and was capable of reshaping the tissue of her right arm to form a rather nasty-looking ax for use as a weapon. She could also release a large number of green energy projections shaped like little butterflies which could either envelop her and act as a shield against incoming attacks or be made to surround her adversary, in which case they would incapacitate said individual's movement and inflict an indeterminate amount of pain upon them. This last power was apparently dependant upon Papillon's own concentration and strength of will and could be disrupted if she were distracted in some manner.
