History: Petasos was a female Youma recruited by
Nephrite to help him gather energy from human beings in order to revive
Queen Metallia. To this end, he planted her inside of a gardening hat belonging
to the caretaker of a public park - Mr. Kunitachi - by marking it with
his evil crest, thereby hastening the man's approach towards his maximum
energy potential.
Once Mr. Kunitachi had reached his productive peak, Petasos emerged
from her hiding place inside of his hat and drained him of his energy.
She then proceeded to battle Sailor Mercury and Sailor Moon, managing to
tie them up with the tentacular vines from one of her projectile attacks,
as well as those which made up her hair, though Sailor Mars managed to
free them by incinerating their bonds. Petasos attempted to attack all
three of the Sailor Soldiers, but, thanks to Tuxedo Mask's intervention,
ended up being distracted long enough for Sailor Moon to destroy her with
her "Moon Tiara Action".

Abilities: Aside from being able to
emerge from the object inside of which she had been planted and draining
human beings of their energy, Petasos had the power to manipulate and control
the minds of small animals - including birds, squirrels, and even butterflies
- and cause them to attack her opponents on command. Her hands could change
shape to resemble pink flowers, which upon "blossoming", would
fire a small, compact ball of vines at her adversary that, once in close
enough proximity to its intended target, would grow explosively into a
living, tentacle-like mass and incapacitate the individual by wrapping
itself tightly around them. Petasos could achieve a similar effect with
her living, plantlike hair, which could grow at incredible speeds and likewise
form vines capable of tying up her adversaries.
