	Name: Goku (Kakarot)
	Family: Chichi, Gohan, Goten, Bardock (deceased), Raditz (deceased)
	Name meaning: Carrot
	Originaly a third-class sayian sent to destroy the earth as a child, Kakarot was unwillingly adopted by a human named Gohan and dropped on his head. He lost all will to destroy the earth and lived as a human would under the name of Goku. After transforming into a giant rampaging monkey after looking at the full moon, he accedentaly killed Gohan. Later he went on to meet Krilin and train with Master Roshi. Years later at the beggining of the Dragon Ball Z series, Goku is currently the strongest man on earth. After destroying his brother Raditz, and him self, Piccolo told raditz of the dragon balls and thus the last 2 remaining sayians, Nappa and Vegeta hear him and leave to get the Dragon balls. Goku travels across the 10,000 mile snake way to train with the great King Kai. Several months later he arrives and trains for 88 days(the equivalent of several thousand years due to the heavy gravity). 88 days later Goku is wished back to life with the dragon balls and races back to fight the sayians. Nappa is easily defeated by Vegeta and Goku begins the fight with Vegeta. He proves to be stronger with the help of a kaioken times 4, Vegeta transforms in to a giant rampaging monkey and defeats goku. It is Gohan ,Goku's son, who defeats him.

Name: Vegeta

Family: Bulma, Trunks

Name Meaning: Vegetable

Vegeta is the Prince of the Saiyans, who strongly believes that he will become a Super Saiyan, which he does. He is first introduced after Goku and 'friends' beat Raditz, and he learns of the Dragonballs. He comes to Earth hoping to wish for Immortality but a great battle is ahead of him. After being severely beaten, he climbs in his space pod and heads to the planet Freeza. After he gets healed, he heads off to Namek to get the Namekian dragonballs, also to wish for immortality. There, he is confronted by Freeza, a very strong alien guy. It seems that nobody can beat him until Goku turns into a Super Saiyan. This inspires Vegeta to become a Super Saiyan, and so Vegeta's tale is told.

Name: Gohan

Family: Goku, Goten, Chichi

Name Meaning: Sky

A half-sayian, half-human spawn of Chichi and Goku. Although he is one of the most powerful fighters he is also the weakest due to lack of training. Originaly he is a weak child with the ability to unwillingly raise his power level when angered. When it is known that the Sayians are coming, Piccolo kidnaps him for one year to train him. The first part of his training is survival training. In the beginning of this training Gohan looks at the full moon and transformed into a giant rampaging monkey. Piccolo stops him by destroying the moon. Gohan once tried to escape and succeded but went back to continue to train. The next part of his training was hand to hand combat with Piccolo. When the sayians arive Gohan is recruited to fight them. During an attack on Nappa, Gohan is supposed to blast Nappa but goes and hides behind a rock (what a little bitch). Once Nappa is deafeated.,Goku fights Vegeta and Gohan and Krilin leave. When they see Goku is in trouble they return. Gohan turns into a giant rampaging monkey and fights Vegeta. Vegeta cuts off Gohan's tail and Gohan falls on Vegeta and cripples him. Gohan, Bulma, and Krilin head off to Namek to get the Dragon balls. Gohan finds a dragon ball and gets his 'special powers' realeased by Guru, the eldest Namek. He fghts Goldo, a member of the Ginyu force, and wins.

Name: Trunks

Family: Vegeta, Bulma

Name meaning: Shorts or pants

Trunks is introduced right when Metal Freeza is attacking the Z team. He comes back from the future with the help of Bulma, his mother, and kills Freeza, (he slices him in half). Trunks is the child of Vegeta and Bulma. Later in the series, the child Trunks is born. He reaches Super Saiyan at age 8. With his pal Goten, (Goku's other son), he can merge into Gotenks. Trunks has purple hair that is parted in the middle. He is the only Saiyan to not have black hair.

Name Meaning: ?

Goten is the second and final son of Chi Chi and Goku. He is born after the Cell era I believe. He becomes Super Saiyan at a VERY young age, he was 7 I believe. This suprised everyone. He loves to fight like Goku and unlike Gohan, but he would rather eat, sleep, and hang out with Trunks. While Majin Buu is terrorizing Earth, Goten and Trunks do the Merge Dance to become Gotenks, Earth's only hope. However, Gotenks is careless, reckless, and disobedient. Not to mention overconfident. They do ok against Majin Buu until he turns into Ultimate Buu. After Buu kills everyone on Earth and all the Z fighters and their family, Gotenks goes Super Saiyan 3. They toss Majin Buu around for awhile, until they unmerge, (they are not able to merge again for 30 mins after.) This is towards the end of Dragonball Z. I am not sure about what role he plays in DBGT.
