Brine Dragons
Brine Dragons are fully aquatic, they cannot breath air or walk on land, the only time they even break the surface of the water is to get a bite to eat (like a boat fully of yummy humans). Brine dragons are a true horror of the deep, they are unpredictable and violent. They are low in intelligence and have no family or society structure. In fact they are so chaotic that they sometimes leave their eggs to hatch and the babies to fend for themselves. Brine dragons have a diet almost completely made up of salt, which their bodies refine into a salt and saliva mixture that can be breathed and acts as a highly corrosive acid. Due to their love of salt brine dragons can mostly be found in salt water marshes and other areas with a high salt content.

Skyre
Age: 863 winters
Lair: Somewhere along the Western coast
Description: The brine dragons are not one of the well known dragon species, but no less deadly, Skyre is a perfect example. Deep under the water he watches vessels as they come and go from various ports. Picking the most suseptable ship he will follow them far out to sea, beyond the markers and other ships view. Then when they are alone he attacks from below and strikes the bottom of the boat, attempting to break it's hull. Over the centuries he has learned that his scales aren't always enough, so to complament his attacks he has ground shells, rocks, and coral into the scales alone his back. This conglomerate weapon is almost always enough to break the ship and send it to a watery grave. Although he is primarily a hunter Skyre often picks vessels that are under the flag of a trader, or noble, as these ships often have the more baubles for him to collect. After each successful trip he returns to his lair and deposits whatever he took from the wreck, then he moves to a different port to avoid becoming suspicious.
Children: Skayre has one son, a young brine named Ourtyth. This young prodigy is already doomed, born with a severely disfunctional brain he is even more stupid that most brine. He commonly lunges out of the water for a meal, and has even wriggled up onto a dock to drag a fisherman in. While these stories frighten the people, it won't be long before a party of heroes walks by a recent attack site. Since Ourtyth rarely moves until there is no more food to be had, it's only matter of time.
