News
Wednesday, March 13, 2002
Well, it's been a little while since DBZNY's posted some J-Pop news. However, there's plenty of news in here now! Lots and lots stuff happening. Let's get to it: Utada Hikaru's new single Utada Hikaru is releasing a new single on 5 / 9 / 2002 . The single, called Sakura Drops, will retail for 1,100 Yen. Ayumi Hamasaki Computer Game "A Type Ayumi Hamasaki Touch Typing Software". As the title suggests, it's a computer typing game. It appears that you type the lyrics to the songs in which you are watching the video of, in sequence with the music. Kind of like Typing Of The Dead and Bemani mixed together. The songs that seem to be in it are: Boys & Girls, Evolution, SURREAL, M, TO BE, Fly High, LOVE - Destiny, Dearest, and Endless Sorrow. I'm unsure but I think that each difficulty level may have different songs according to the site. I am most likely wrong but who knows. A US release? I highly doubt it. You can check out the A Type site here. Avex Reducing On-Line Music Distribution Prices Avex Inc. has announced it will be reducing it's on-line distribution prices. Avex is a leading Japanese record company who has many famous artists on its label. Artists such as Ayumi Hamasaki, Dream and Every Little Thing are on the Avex label. Starting April 1, Avex will be lowering it's prices for each type of service to 200 Yen. Distribution methods are the Internet, kiosk terminals, and PSH mobile phones. The original prices were 350 Yen per song via the Internet and mobile phones and 400 Yen per song for the kiosk terminals. Avex Anti-Copy Protection A very contraversial topic here in the US. CD Copy-Protection. Avex has announced anti-copy plans, so we'll see what happens in Japan I suppose. Beginning with the new BoA maxi single being released on March 13 (hmm), Avex has stated it will be attaching copy control functions to some of it's CD's. I'm unsure what exactly "some" of their CD's means, but I suppose we'll find out soon. Avex says it's lowering it's on-line music prices because of this new copy protection. The reason for the contraversy in the US at least is because of the various home recording laws, as well as some issues with MAC computers not being able to play the CD's as well as other forms of CD players. For full information on what Avex's copy protection CD's can and can't be played on, as well as what CD's will utilize this function head over here. Go back to: DBZNY 5.0 Main |
