It had been a bad day, the Guide at Jusenkyou thought to himself as he cowered in the small shack where he had spent most his life. He had woken up on the wrong side of the bed to begin with. Burnt his breakfast....spilled his tea all over himself and failed to keep three unlucky, and rather stupid, tourists from getting themselves cursed. He thought the day couldn't get any worse and of course fate had to spite him and bring about the current situation. He chanced a peek out the window. They were still there. He had a bad feeling when they first entered the Cursed Training Grounds he was supposed to watch over. They didn't fall from the cliffs or walk in through the front gates like everyone else. No...they just "appeared" at the center of the ground in a column of light standing in a circle holding hands. They very very strange indeed. Five girls and two cats. The girls were also dressed...or rather hardly dressed in his opinion. Each wore a sailor fuku and long white gloves with colored trim at the elbows. Also they each wore a tiara.
The guide decided he'd better tell them of the dangers of this place and headed over. He reached them and having heard them speaking Japanese as he approached he cleared his throat and the five turned sharply hands up as if expecting attack. The Guide took a couple steps back and raised his hands to show he meant no harm. Once they relaxed a little he spoke, "Excuse me madams. You is very strange. It is most dangerous to be here. You should leave now. These Training Ground is very cursed place. Each pool here have curse and now any who falls in pool takes the form of last thing that drown there many year ago. Very tragic legend."
He watched the reactions of disbelief form on the girls faces. The one with long shiny black hair stepped forward a little. She had a red trimmed fuku with a red, and rather short skirt as well as red star earrings and a large purple bow on her front. "Cursed pools? You really don't expect us to believe that do you? Listen Mister we've got work to do here and it's gonna get dangerous so why don't you go find someplace safe okay?", she said to him not unkindly but also not wanting him around. The Guide blinked and paused noting one of the blonde girl, the one with long pigtails. He noticed the two balls of hair her pigtails started from and remembered he was going to have dumplings for supper. This girl seemed to be complaining about even being here and crying that she didn't want to be cursed. The other three, another blonde with her hair like the one with black, a brown haired tall girl with hers in a ponytail and a short blue haired one, were trying to calm the first girl down. The Guide decided to re-emphasize his point but never got to. Interrupting him was an explosion from the nearby mountains.
The girls and cats turned to look and saw part of the mountain top was gone and purple smoke was billowing from it. A loud, evil laughter came from the mountain and echoed all over the valley of Jusenkyou. That's when the Guide decided to run and hide in his shack. From the hole in the mountain came a huge woman dressed in a slinky purple dress with billowing red hair. She rose out of the hole until she was standing on the mountain. She laughed loud again and then dark lightning shot from her hands at the girls. They dove for cover and luckily none landed in a pool. The Guide trembled in fright seeing the huge woman. The girls were just getting up where the tremor from the blast hit his shack. The whole thing shook and a large pan fell and clanged off his head. He fell and consciousness left him.
"This isn't turning out good.", all the Senshi and Luna and Artemis all thought in unison. Beryl was getting the upper hand after a surprise attack. None of their attacks were even cause her to flinch. They all took cover again as a blast of dark energy slammed into the ground and Beryl's laughter rang out. They were able to all hide behind a large outcropping of rock and confer. Sailor Moon was the first to say anything and as usual it was a complaint as she nearly broke down into tears, "You guys we aren't having any affect on her what are gonna dooooooooooo?!!!!!!"
Luna groaned, "SAILOR MOON! Calm down. We have to think. Beryl is still too strong. I thought you were ready for her."
"We are ready for her Luna we just have to find a way to beat her!", Sailor Jupiter said feircely and clenched a fist.
"Yeah. We're the Beautiful Bishoujo Sailor Senshi. We can handle this slime queen!", agreed Sailor Venus. Luna smiled and nodded. There just had to be a way.
Luna turned to Sailors Mars and Mercury and hopefully asked, "Can either of you two sense anything?" The both got to work Mercury activating her VR visor and computer while peeking out from around the rock lightly to scan Beryl. Mars closed her eyes and concentrated calling upon her power and tried to sense something. Meanwhile Beryl was mildly annoyed. She cackled out moving her hands around the glowing sphere on the top of her staff. She called out, "Hiding are we? How cowardly of you. Perhaps I should level this whole place...or maybe this whole country hmmm? Come out come out wherever you are. I want the pleasure of destroying you while I can see you but if you don't I'll destroy everyone on this country." She then laughed out loud and waited. It wouldn't be long.
Mercury and Mars turned back and said at the same time to the others, "Her staff!" They blinked and Mercury continued, "It's her staff you guys. You see that glowing sphere. She's drawing all her power from it. If we destroy that, from my readings, it should banish her from the earth. Her staff is not only linked to her but also to the Negaverse itself. With it gone there's nothing to hold her here."
Sailor Moon stood up and in a rare act of bravery, "Right! Good work Mercury. It's time for us to put Beryl in her place for what she did to the Moon Kingdom and what's she's tried to do to the Earth. Let's go!" With that she leaped out of the hiding spot followed by the others shouting similar sentiments of agreement. They ran to the middle of the valley where Beryl finally spotted them. Sailor Moon raised a hand and pointed an accusing finger at Beryl.
"This is it Beryl. We refuse to let you go any further in your wicked plans. You may have destroyed the Moon Kingdom but we WON'T let you do the same to Earth. Perpare to be sent packing! I am Sailor Moon...", Sailor Moon announced followed by each of the others in turn.
"Sailor Mars!"
"Sailor Mercury!"
"Sailor Jupiter!"
"Sailor Venus!"
Then in unison, "The Beautiful Bishoujo Sailor Senshi!!" Sailor Moon then picked up finishing off the speech, "We will not let you continue in your plans one moment longer!"
Then Sailor Moon reached up and grabbed her tiara by the center. The jewel flashed and she pulled it off It began to glow as she turned around forming it into a disc. The others at the same time began charging there attacks. Mercury concentrated a small globe of blue energy between her hands. Mars clasped her hands her two index fingers pointing out as a small ball of fire formed right at their tips. Jupiter crossed her arms in front of her, her index and pinky fingers pointing out. An antennae rise from her tiara and lightning crashed down from the sky to it and began flowing around her. A glowing symbol of two back to back crascent moons appeared in the air above Venus. She gathered her energy and stuck her right hand in the air at the symbol index finger out and then lowered it at Beryl. They all attacked her at once.
"MOON TIARA MAGIC!!"
"MARS FIRE IGNITE!!"
"MERCURY BUBBLES BLAST!!"
"JUPITER THUNDER CRASH!!"
"VENUS CRESCENT BEAM SMASH!!"
Sailor Moon's tiara flew straight at Beryl. Mars's fire followed and coated the tiara. Mercury's bubbles then did the same surrounding the fire. Jupiter's lightning followed suit and crackled around and through the bubbles while Venus's crescent beam seemed to merge with Jupiter's lightning and make a yellow glow around the whole thing. The sum of the scouts power flew at Beryl and she launched a huge burst of black erengy at it. Just before they collided Sailor Moon reached out with her power and yanked to one side with her hand and then back the opposite way shouting again, "MOON TIARA MAGIC!!!!!"
To Beryl's surprise the tiara suddenly flew to the right her attack missing it completely. It kept it's forward momentum and then jerked back and slammed into the glowing sphere on top of her staff. A large explosion of yellow light and sound rocked through the valley as the source of Beryl's power shattered and bled off. She screamed enraged as she felt herself being sucked back into the Negaverse along with what was left of her forces. "NOOOOOO!!!! I won't be beaten again!!!!!", she howled at them a black vortex suddenly behind her pieces of her ripping off and being pulled into it. She howled in pain.
The Senshi wear watching and smiling. Sailor Moon jumped up and down a bit, "We beat her!! We beat Beryl!!" The rest were eager to agree and didn't notice just as Beryl was getting pulled in entirely she thrust a hand out and with the last of her power sent a column of black energy at them, her hand the last thing through the black vortex before it faded. The Senshi didn't notice until it was too late. Luna did however and both her and Artemis ran towards them, "LOOK OUT!!!!"
Too late. The black energy slammed into them and the ground and crackled all about them . The five Senshi screamed in pain. The ground seemed to almost writhe in pain as well and then it buckled lightly under them and exploded upwards sending the five girls through the air. They landed with a splash...each one in a pool. They floated down to the bottom of their pools, unconscious and paralyzed from the dark energy. The air slowly drained out of there lungs bubbling to the surface as each drowned a slow death. Luna and Artemis stopped in horror watching and none of them surfaced. The last of the pools stopped bubbling and all was silent. The Senshi and Earth's only hope against the evil forces of the Negaverse were dead. The two guardians, though only cats, mourned and cried.
The Guide woke up from his pot induced nap and rose to look outside. The valley looked like a battlefield rather than the calm pristine and peaceful place it usually was. He stepped out of his shack and looked around. The five girls and the huge woman on the mountain were gone. He paused hearing crying and followed it to the source. The two cats that wee with the girls were crying and talking to each other. It took him only a moment to get used to this. He approached and kneeled, "Why you cry cats?" He asked and realized how ridiculous he must look right now but shruged that thought off. The black cat was crying so bad she couldn't form a sentance. The white one turned and looked up.
His voice was broken from the sorrow, "They're...dead. The Senshi are dead. They won...but Beryl blasted them as she was banished and...knocked them into the pools. They drowned." The Guide was shocked to say the least. He moved and quickly examined the pools noting the five clear ones with a body of a girl at the bottom of each one. He lowered his head in respect for the dead and failed to notice the fukus of the senshi glowing and then dissolving. He also failed to notice a single bubble of air floating up and silently breaking on the surface of each pool.
After a moment he turned and went over and picked up the cats and spoke quietly to them. "Oh. Very tragic cats. Those pools were not yet cursed when they fell into them. Now they are. What were the Senshi's names, cats?"
Artemis paused and looked up, "Sailor Moon, Sailor Mercury, Sailor Mars, Sailor Jupiter and Sailor Ve...Venus." Luna still in shock said nothing. The guide turned and looked to those five pools and said to himself more than to them, "Yueiichuan, Xingshuiiichuan, Huoxingiichuan, Xingmuiichuan and Xingxiaoiichuan. Very tragic. Now whoever fall in those springs take on body of senshi that drowned there." He nodded and Luna looked up and then to the pools. Artemis looked as well and wondered if what the guide was saying was true when those five pools glowed bright white all of a sudden and forming on the surface of each pool was the respective symbol of the senshi that drowned there.
The three stood in awe and watched as the pools then shot up into the sky five columns of blinding white and after a time the columns faded leaving high in the sky five sphere of white energy a senshi symbol emblazened on each one. They then shot off into the just beginning night sky and suddenly flashing into existance for just a moment was a large glowing pink symbol. Fukkátsu. Rebirth. The senshi were dead....but one day...they would be reborn.
