Ardis is an island girl. She was born on the lovely Caribbean island of Dominica, but her mother's
marriage to a Swede saw her move thousands of miles to a colder island: Singö, in the Roslagen
archipelago a hundred kilometres north of Stockholm. Her dance-oriented music is filled with sounds from her varied background: reggae bass, African drums, and not least her own very special voice, which sounds stretched and supple at the same time. Melodic but with a gritty, sensual touch that makes it quite unique. |
