HISTORY

Here is a summary so far:

1. The Elders when off to Patternfall war in chaos, leaving Gerard behind and many of their children as well.
2. They returned 25 years after they left, due to odd time differentials. During this time, Gerard was regent and he recovered many of the younger Amberites from shadow if they were not already taken care of.
3. Random was given the kingship, grudgingly, and Gerard stepped down as regent. Bleys was allowed to return to Amber, as was Fiona, exonerated because they joined against their brother Brand and their former allies of chaos. Bleys, however, can never be King again, by Royal edict.
4. Despite a good two year start, Random has bolloxed his kingship in the last three years, falling into drunkeness, debauchery and so forth. The kingdom is in shambles, particularly the army. Noble power has grown as the Crown has waned.
5. At Julian's invitation, Random called for a hunt for a white hart (stag) in Arden, the beginning of the game.
6. After Rowan and Martel had a dispute, Random publicaly shamed both of them in different ways and gave the official word he wanted Martin as heir, a choice many felt was unsuitable since Martin wasn't a 'kingly' guy, and a better choice for 'the man behind the throne', or 'advisor'.
7. The hunt began, and several hours into it, Gerard's horn sounded over the distance, calling for help.
8. Random is found wounded by a poisoned arrow in Arden by Gerard, Rowan, Joshua and some nobility. He is brought back out and operated upon, and carried back to the Castle.
9. Gerard announces that all those loyal to the Crown shall report the next morning at tenth bell (10 AM) at the Rectory. Those who fail to show are declared traitors.
10. Caine and Julian do not return from the hunt, thier absence seeming to indicate guilt.
11. The players go their own ways, plotting.
12. At Martel's earlier urging, most of the younger Amberites gather at the Study to discuss the situation.
13. Martin announces he has officially stepped down from the succession and named Martel heir in his place. Martel asks for the others' support.
14. There is much objection, as Random is not yet dead, and threats, insults and so forth are hurled about. No one likes the idea of Martel taking the throne, for various reasons, and talk borders on treasonous disrespect. It ends with Martin and Martel declaring the lack of obedience to respecting the line of Random as successor to the throne as sedicious. They are about to disarm and escort their cousins to the harbor for exile when a fight breaks out in the floors below.
15. Gerards men assualt the palace guard of Martel's own group, and begin to succumb.
16. In the confusion, crossbow bolts fly, Joshua and Arathorn are wounded, and Martin and Martel escape out a window vowing to keep the Throne and depose any upstarts. Game current so far...
