Ruth
Bio: Ruth's spirit burns brightly, and her passion warms those around her. She is loyal and quite idealistic. It was Ruth's hunger for knowledge that lead her to the old manuscript archive in the basement of St. Augustus, where she met a young priest, Peter Donovan, in whom she found a kindred spirit, despite obvious differences.

Quote: "Whatever is going on here, I'm going to get to the bottom of things."
Max
Bio: Max is a well-respected historian and priest at St. Augustus. He is also a seasoned vampire hunter. His experiences make him a dangerous foe, but his sense of justice and commitment to the truth have driven him to make strange, and somewhat uncomfortable alliances with the very creatures he hunts.

Quote: "There will be yet more sacrifices made tonight."
Jen
Bio: Childlike is outlook, but ancient in years, Jen is having the time of her unlife. Her close ties to Ruth bring her into a conflict that she would otherwise probably avoid. But her genuine feeling for her friend reveal a fierce and serious determination beneath her light hearted demeanor.

Quote: "Did you notice? That last guy was kinda cute."
Meat Puppet
Bio: Formed from re-animated remains by a dark magic, this creature has no will but the will of the one who summoned it.

Quote: "Grrr..."
Will
Bio: In life, he was the village idiot; mocked, mistreated, and misunderstood. After he was brought across his borderline personality was pushed even further from the fringes of sanity that he held onto as a mortal. He possessed a kind heart, but seemed to have little understanding of the larger concepts of good or evil, and was easily mislead. Sadly, when his usefulness to the clans to which he owed his allegiance had come to an end, he was eliminated.

Quote: "They don't mock anymore... They've all gone silent long ago. But it's funny.. When I'm alone in the dark... I still hear them.. Laughing..."
Anya
Bio: Anya takes pleasure in her manipulations those who surround her. She sees others as merely play things and delights in pulling the strings, and watching the puppets contort under her influence.

Quote: "The smell of a fresh kill has lead me to you."
Melchior
Bio: Prince of the city. Melchior is concerned about the well being of his brood. He knows of Ruth and sees her energy as a tool that can be harnessed for his own purposes. He is tolerant, but will react to anything perceived as a real threat with cunning, brutality, and no mercy.

Quote: "The holy crusade that seeks to destroy our kind will also destroy its own crusaders..."
Peter
Bio: A bright young priest, serving at his first commission out of seminary. He his hand picked to go to St. Augustus because it was determined that he should be brought into the elite group of vampire hunters within the church. His strong faith and sharp skills made him valuable, and a dangerous foe to those he hunted, but his exploits were cut short well before he was able to reach his true potential.

Quote: "Maybe there is a way to make a difference after all."
Greg
Bio: A career soldier in life, he maintains his surly demeanor. Greg is strong, but not mindless. He carefully considers the choices he makes, is honorable, and can be trusted to defend his friends.

Quote: "It seems as though Ruth's heart burns with a fire that yours and mine lost long, long ago..."
Spade
Bio: Spade hunts vampires. He is very good at this, and he knows it. In top physical condition, and mentally very sharp, he is an asset to his team.

Quote: "Don't worry, everything will be fine."
French
Bio: Brought up in the church, French has been giving his life over to religion for as long as he can remember. When he was told that there were vampires, it came as very little surprise to him that there would be such a tangible manifestation of evil in the world. Since then he has been hunting. Working so close to the darkness, and doing what must be done has taken its toll on his soul, and left it somewhat darker than before.

Quote: "We can't have you sharing your discoveries with others, inside or outside of the church."
Kelly
Bio: A young girl with an extraordinary talent. Early in her life she was identified as "sensitive"... Taken from the orphanage where she was discovered, she has been taught many of the sacred rituals of the church involving exorcism and other such things.

Quote: "I'm scared."
Paul
Bio: Once a strong leader, Paul has stumbled in his faith. Hunting vampires with Spade, French, and Kelly; he is also hunting for the meanings behind that which he has seen.

Quote: "The true battle lies just ahead of us now."
