Chibi-Usa's dream had always been to become a lady... Her wish was granted prematurely due to Wiseman's evil influence. She was a grown woman, but she then belonged to the side of darkness. With Wiseman's power infused in her, she transformed into a full-figured lady. She became Black Lady, Queen of the dark planet Nemesis.

Wiseman struck at a crucial time to Chibi-Usa. She was feeling remorse for the disappearance of the ginzuishou and blaming herself for the plight of things. She thought no one loved her and that her mother would never awaken from her deep sleep. Chibi-Usa wandered out to the barren lands of Crystal Tokyo, and Wiseman came upon her. His words appealed to her ears and won her over to the side of the Black Moon. He made her think that no one loved her anymore and promised her queendom and her wish-come-true.

In the anime, Black Lady's transformation was incredible; exaggerating the growth of her body limb by limb (^_^;). As Black Lady, Chibi-Usa took over the duties of the remaining Black Moon family members. She tries to implant part of the Black Crystal on Earth (thus setting up the Dark Gate through which Death Phantom can enter) and to destroy the senshi she wrongly thought hated her.

In the manga, Black Lady became the queen of Nemesis. She completely controlled the remaining Black Moon family members (Safir and Demando).

Her main job was to produce the ginzuishou of the past and the ginzuishou of the future to Wiseman. She nearly accomplishes this, and pays for it dearly.

In the anime, Black Lady transformed back into the normal Chibi-Usa through the persuasion and kind acts of the senshi. She would attack them all relentlessly, but each time the senshi would try to refresh her memory with words of love.

In the end, it worked, and Sailor Moon came out of the battle with the Chibi-Usa everyone loved.

In the manga, things took a more morbid turn. Black Lady had possession of the two ginzuishou from the past and future, but Demando robbed her of them. About to bring them together and cause a cataclysmic event, Pluto stopped him using her Time Stop. It was her forbidden attack and Queen Selenity had warned her before. And so she paid with her life. Black Lady watched the death of Pluto with memories of her past life flowing through her mind. A tear runs down her cheek and crystallizes into a ginzuishou. Her power was found, and she transformed into Sailor ChibiMoon. But it was too late for Pluto to see the new soldier...

Black Lady resurfaces?!

Chibi-Usa gets her wish granted one more time later on when Pallapalla switches her age with Sailor Moon's [so that ChibiUsa wasn't really as old as Black Lady was; she had the teen-aged physique of Usagi]. She is ecstatic with this until Pegasus tells her that he needs her as she is. Without her dream, Pegasus cannot stay in her Golden Mirror. And so she reverts back to her chibi self.

PallaPalla's work in the mangaThe inners also have a heart attack when they see her ["BLACK LADY?!"]. In the manga, Chibi-Usa is not quite happy with her new form. She knows it's not her natural form, and she would have to wait a while until she really belonged in the body of a lady. She feels even more uncomfortable when Pegasus compliments her on her grown-up looks. Chibi-Usa didn't want him to like her for being someone she wasn't.
