Foes

There were a number of people who had bad intentions for Chibi-Usa (other than CURE members, that is) and the rest of the senshi.

Black Moon clan

Headed by Wiseman, the Black Moon family from Nemesis were sent back to the past after the Rabbit. They knew she had power and could lead to the ginzuishou, the one object that held oppositioning power to that of their own black crystal. Wiseman was really Death Phantom, an exile of Earth in the future, who was in actuality the physical planet Nemesis. He used the Black Moon family, for his own purposes of overtaking Earth.

The actual Black Moon family's mission was to change the past and rule the planet Earth. They did not like the "ungodly" and "unearthly" powers of the ginzuishou that granted long life to humans. Death Phantom, on the other hand, doesn't give a rat's patoot about that. All he wants is power and evil on Earth. He had tried to take over before in the future but was defeated.

Death Busters

The Death Busters were also alien invaders, although they had no true connections with Earth. Pharoah 90 was the distant head of them all, wanting to arrive at Earth and ruin it to his liking. Mistress 9 was to come first and open the way for him. Years ago, Hotaru was injured seriously in a fire during the construction of the Infinity labs. She was basically dead, but Tomoe sold their bodies to the alien invaders in order for them to "live". From then on, he and Hotaru and Kaolinite were really hosts for daimon. It was a pity that the host of Mistress 9 was the senshi of death and destruction. The invaders from Tau Ceti were killed by Saturn and sealed off by Pluto.

Dead Moon

These new baddies were not really new at all, nor were they foreigners. The people of the Dead Moon Kingdom had been enemies of the Moon Kingdom. They had been the darkness that accompanied the beautiful white light. Queen Neherenia had placed a curse in Princess Selenity's early childhood on the Silver Millennium. She claimed that she was the true ruler of the moon. She made sure that Princess Selenity would not ascend the throne after Queen Selenity [which is exactly what happened with the arrival of Beryl and Metallia].

Queen Selenity sealed her inside a great mirror, but Neherenia still managed to curse Elysion later on. Elysion was cursed, as was Elios and so Endymion. Earth would be weakened as well, especially without Elysion to support it nor its guardian Endymion, Prince of the Golden Kingdom and keeper of the Golden Crystal. Once it was found, the Golden and Silver crystals defeated Nephrenia... But the queen of the dead moon had been right. Darkness and light were children of a common mother. They coexisted in the universe and there would be more strife to come. The senshi existed because of this. Neherenia's words foreshadow the last recorded battle of Sailormoon.

Chaos

Chaos was an interesting enemy and predecessor. Chaos was the entity controlling Sailor Galaxia. He gave birth to the massive baddies as well as to the bright goodness of the sailor soldiers. All this happened in the "birthplace of the stars", the Galaxy Cauldron at the Zero Star of Sagittarius. Chaos used Galaxia as a means of taking the universe under his dark control. Galaxia did the work for him, creating new evil sailor senshi that ruined planets and absorbed them into her sizeable empire, Shadow Galactica. Galaxia was killed by Chaos in the end.

And Chaos was destroyed with the help of Eternal Sailormoon, along with the Galaxy Cauldron. With the realization that the beings of the universe, good and bad, were one, rebirth occured and the Pyrrhic aspect of the Sailor Wars was reversed. The Cosmos Crystal of Sailor Cosmos [EternalSailorMoon's next and final form, I'm guessing] prevailed and gave rebirth. That power of rebirth (which had always been Sailor Moon's anyway) was called the "Lambda Power". The Lambda power could also one day result in Chaos's rebirth as well...
