Elios

With the arrival of Elios, Chibi-Usa redirects her affinity from Mamo-chan to him.

Elios is the priest of the subterranean world of Elysion that exists paralleled with Earth. He is the guardian of Mamoru, and he is linked to him like the Earth is linked to Elysion. Elysion protects Earth; its inhabitants have the role of protecting Earth internally. Endymion had come from the Golden Kingdom which was set in Elysion. Elios resides in his shrine in the heart of Elysion with the two shrine caretakers who help him in his duties of protection.

In the anime, the spirit of Pegasus temporarily resides in Chibi-Usa's Golden Mirror. Neherenia and the Dead Moon Circus are looking for him because of his Golden Crystal, his horn. Neherenia has already captured Elios physically. He is also connected to Mamoru; if he dies, so does Mamoru. Neherenia eventually finds Pegasus and takes Chibi-Usa prisoner.

In the manga, Neherenia is looking to kill those of the white moon for revenge and to rule as the rightful queen of the moon. In the Silver Millennium, she tried to take over around the time of Princess Selenity's birth, but Queen Selenity managed to seal her inside a mirror. Still, Neherenia cursed the princess [she would not live to ascend the throne after her mother]. In the present time, Neherenia has cursed Elysion. In doing so, Elios was cursed, which causes Mamoru and the earth to be affected as well. The Golden Crystal was needed to fight with the Silver Crystal, and the princess soldier of the moon was the one who could find it. Elios had messages from a mysterious "Princess Lady Selenity" who gave him the requirements. Little did he know that Chibi-Usa was the young lady.

The Golden Crystal is found inside of Mamoru. In the final battle, Eternal Sailor Moon defeats Neherenia, but Elios died giving all his power to save the senshi from the spread of the Dead Moon evil overruning earth. SailorStarChibiMoon finds him in his shrine in Elysion and gives him a kiss. The power of her Pink Heart Crystal returned life to his body. The first sight he lays his eyes on is the crying SailorStarChibiMoon. He realizes she is the princess he's been looking for all along...

First kiss...

In the anime, their first kiss is exchanged in episode 158 when Chibi-Usa had been age-switched with Usagi. Pegasus tells Chibi-Usa that he needs her in her true form. In this false adult body, her dream had come true and Pegasus would not be able to hide in her dream mirror. He gives her a kiss before leaving.

Whoa, what a lip-lock, eh? From this clip, I'd say Chibi-Usa can kiss better than her mother! ^_^;;

In the manga, Chibi-Usa is having a hard time with her seemingly hopeless dream of becoming a lady. She begins to cry and Pegasus appears to comfort her. He tells her she is very much needed and will become a great soldier and wonderful princess one day. He tells her not to cry and then kisses her.

In the end, he departs for Elysion and promises to meet Chibi-Usa again.

"Elios, will I see you again?"

"Of course, Small Lady. I'll be waiting for you... with my heart."

"Definitely! We'll meet each other another day!"

There's a promise of a good start for Small Lady. Earth, Elysion, and the moon will be bound tighter.

Opinion: I just love the romance between Elios and ChibiUsa that is apparent in the anime. ^_^ Elios looks younger there, maybe a few years older than ChibiUsa. There's much more feeling in the anime. He seems to like kissing ChibiUsa (his first kiss was nothing compared to the last one ^_^;;). When Neherenia succeeded in taking the Golden Crystal from his horn, he sure seemed very comfortable being held by ChibiMoon (not that I'm saying Elios is ecchi!). And I loved the look of surprise on the inners' faces when he kisses ChibiMoon in an effort to wake her.
