Many years ago, the world was torn apart by war. After Boris Yeltsin’s death in the year 2000, the Soviet Union was resurrected, and led out of a dark depression. They began to expand and were met by the forces of NATO. There were many worries that NATO would use Americas icbm’s to strike at Russia’s weakened defenses. The Soviets anticipated this, and so they placed many spies in the U.S. Some Americans secretly defected to the Soviets, giving help and locations of the icbm base locations to the communists. The spies were then activated, sabotaging the icbm launch sites, preventing them from firing. These spies were very brave, or stupid, they gave their own lives to the communist cause. For you see, right after this the Soviet Union launched a nuclear arsenal on the United States, obliterating all whom lived there. NATO feared the Soviets would do the same, if they did not give in, so in 2003, NATO signed a peace accord with the communist regime. This stated that NATO would not be attacked, but they could not intervene in any invasion. The nuclear fallout in the Americas was incredible. Many miles of ocean around the Americas were contaminated. After a year, the radiation spread throughout all of the American continents, killing most of the people. Those who survived moved underground, not to be seen, still to this day. A great drought hit Africa, and the communists who had taken control of them and supplied them for so long finally left. The people there who did not leave eventually died, because all of the fresh water was gone. Australia became a haven of safety from all the starving and fighting going on. It became the resort that everyone wanted to go to get away from it all. After many years of continuous war, the world began to degrade in living conditions. The atmosphere and the hole in the ozone got worse. It became almost unbearable to be outside without protection for even a day. Now, in the year 2150, the sun seems to be losing strength, the Earth was hit by a small asteroid, hitting it in a way to stay in an orbit safely, but it is a little bit further away from the sun. The Earth is now closer to the asteroid belt, meaning some constant showers of stone. Everyone has taken up residence in large cities called hives, and the lands in-between these cities, has become desolate, this place is known as the wasteland. The world has grown up however, some rich cities float in the clouds, and others even richer float in the safety of space. Very unlawful things pop up around every corner.
