Early records of the name in England mention Gilbert TOWCHIN, documented in the County of Lancashire, Alicia la TOUCHE in the county of Surrey, Nicholas le TOUCHE in Kent all in 1275. 1379 Edward TOCHET was listed in the Yorkshire Poll Tax.
John Touchet (1340-1372)
died 23 June 1372 La Rochelle (sea battle) married Maud died before 3 November 1405
In 1369, under the Earl of Pembroke, he served in Poitou and Anjou. Before 1371 he married Maud whose parentage is unknown. On 23 June 1372, he was slain in the naval battle off La Rochelle, in the Bay of Biscay, when the Earl of Pembroke's ship was captured by the Spaniards.

John Touchet, 4th Lord Audley (1371-1408)
born 23 April 1371 died 19 December 1408 married Isabel died after June 1405
Born 23 April 1371, on 21 July 1403 he fought at the Battle of Shrewsbury, Shropshire, with the forces of the Prince of Wales against the rebellious Sir Henry Percy. In 1405 he succeeded his uncle and became 4th Lord Audley and, on 25 August 1405, 1st Baron Touchet. He died on 19 December 1408

William Martine Touche married Lucy Margaret Hockin in 1856 in Phillack, Cornwall, England.
Anthony Tutchin (1632) was a mariner of Limehouse and in command of a vessel lent to the French in 1625. In 1626 he was Master-assistant of the Navy and later Master of Trinity House. His son of the same name became a Commonwealth Naval Officer.
Anthony Tutchen of Poplar and Blackwall (Captain) was an officer in the Commonwealth navy. He was the master of the transport 'Brazil' in May 1650 and in 1653 was pressing seamen for the navy in the eastern counties. He married, Margaret and following her death was preparing to marry Grace Hazle, widow, upon whom he settled property in Poplar known as Oakfield. He died about 1667 and left property to his grandchildren, Margaret Gyles and Sarah, wife of Abraham Read.

His administration (P.C.C. Dec. 1716) was granted to Alexander Geoffrey de La Touche, cousin and next of kin. Captain Alexander Geoffrey de La Touche married Angélique Buor: his son, Charles Benjamin, was baptised, 20 July 1714, in the French church of the Artillery, London: also Gabriel 16 July 1715. Charlotte Pujolas, née Buor, was godmother to both (e) Jeanne, wife of Francois de Prévost,(A) sgr. de La Touche-Imbert et La Piagerie; (f) Marguerite.
The de Robillard family were connected by marriage with that of Prévost de Touche-Imbert (see note (A)). It was still represented at Portarlington in 1793. Living formerly at La Touche, near Azay-le-Rideau in Touraine
Henri Collot d'Escury was the ancestor of the branch in Holland, Barons d'Escury, existing in 1895. (d) Simeon, b. at Tours (la Touche), 21 March 1684. Naturalised 16 July 1713 in London, "officers lately from Spain," Colonel in British Army.
