Francoise TOUCHARD married Antoine Bouzage, Bosarge Sr. 1663-1697
Antoine Bouzage, merchant and his wife Francoise Touchard of Poitiers, lived in the Parishes of St. Didier, St. Opportune and Notre Dame la Petite in France. They were the parents of five children: Antoinette (b.1670), Radegonde (b.1673), Marie (b.1675), Antoine (b.1676) and Perrine (b.1681). Their daughter Antoinette married Giles Berlot of Poitiers in 1692. Giles was the son of Blaise Berlot and Catherine Masson of the Parish of Lie-en-Berry. Their son Antoine, Jr. married Louise Ballet, daughter of Jacques Ballet and Louise Marionneau of St. Savin Parish in 1703.
Joseph Bouzage (1733-1794) was the son of Jean Bouzage and Jeanne Touche of Notre Dame La Petite Parish and the grandson of Antoine Bouzage, Jr. His parents had eight other children. Joseph emigrated to the French Colony of Louisiana. He married Catherine Louise Baudreau, the daughter of Jean Baptiste Baudreau II and Marie Catherine Vinconnau, natives of Pascagoula, in 1762. A son Jean Baptiste Baudrot was born in 1767. Later the family located at Mobile. Several generations of descendants are given. Family members lived in Alabama and elsewhere.
Touche
The descendants of Jacques Touche (born about 1632) may be found in the records of Sarraltroff, Moselle,
France. The name of his wife is not known. I descend from his daughter Anne Catherine, who married Jean
Rudolphe Hesse. Return to Surname Directory.

HOLLOWAY – Amelia’s father – James. Born in Birmingham circa 1830. Ran away aged 10. Went as cabin boy on Yarmouth fleet.
His father was commercial travel in crockery. Possibly out of Bristol. James inherited money and foundry (which he refused) and drank himself to death on the money 10 years later. Went to sea in the fishing smacks rose to skipper of a fish carrier that ferried between shore and the fleet.
Fished off Dogger Bank – only returning to port for refit. The carrier was steam trawler, center of circle of smacks and boxed fish brought back by carrier every 2 days. Main trade was London and firm moved to Barking in 1882. Fish landed on Barking Town Quay – fish moved to Chadwell Market- East London (no longer in existence – Billingsgate). Smacks built in Barking until trade split between Grimsby and Fleetwood.
Hewitts was largest and moved to Fleetwood with a branch still in Yarmouth. Flora Bullock was neighbor of Marshall’s in Grimsby. Related to

To use the lists, click on the initial of the name that you are interested in, in the table below. If you find a name of interest, make a note of the four digit number in the right hand column, and then go to the address lists by clicking on the ADDRESS tag which is on every surnames page. There you will find the researcher's name and address details. When writing to someone, be sure to mention this list, and if writing to a postal address it is usual to include either a stamped self-addressed envelope or a couple of International Reply Coupons. Generally speaking, researchers on these lists with a number greater than 5000 will have an e-mail address and a postal address, whilst those with a number less than 5000 will have a postal address only. But there are exceptions to this, and please let me know if you come across an out-dated address.

John Holloway (ca.1666-1734) immigrated from London,England to Maryland and then moved to York County, Virginia.
He served in the House of Bergesses for several counties and towns, although he only lived in York County (Virginia allowed this, as a colony), and even came to be Speaker of the House.
He was probably a great-nephew of George Holloway, who immigrated about 1635 from England to York County. Descendants and relatives of John lived in Virginia, Washington, D.C., South Carolina and elsewhere. Includes some family history and genealogy in England to the late 1300s; some of this ancestry spelled the surname as Halloway.

A gun boated “pressed” all able men into the army and took families. Later the captain put women and children ashore deserted island to “stretch their legs”. Sailed off with men assuring he would return later. Said his ship was overcrowded and would return when men reached mainland.
Later Capt. Married the little girl – they had a boy and a girl. Girl was Amelia’s aunt. She re-married to a Mr. Lodge and had large family.

The following list of names is taken from Richard Gough's History of Myddle", a parish in Shropshire. The history was written about the year 1700. Names from noble families have generally been excluded. Some of Richard Gough's text is not easy to follow. I have only included names where there there is a surname and first name. Reference to the quoted page will often give extra names. Some names appear in the notes field but are not listed as separate names. The same name sometimes passes through several generations. However, some entries may refer to the same person. (I have tried to be accurate. No guarantees ! Mike Foster)
