"I first became interested in my family history after my parents died and I inherited the typical Victorian family bible with details of my father's family dating back to the 1850's. I have been searching for many years when I can spare the time.
My father told me we had Huguenot ancestors but I did not know who it was. None of the names seemed to be French. It was not until I looked at the 1861 census, my gt.gt.grandmother had her old widowed father staying at their home, and this is the first time I came by the TOUCHARD name, over the years it had changed to Tushaw.
I gradually traced back to Matthew Touchor and his wife Susanna Dede, but it has taken me over 15 years to find their marriage in London at St.Dunstans, Stepney. I still have not found Matthews baptism, and I do not know if it was in England or France, and if in France oh where, where, WHERE? - Still looking."
