GALAXY DESTROYER
Galaxy Destroyer is Tarkuss's classic game, one of the two first non-Hahn VERGE demos released. The pictures in this article are all from the last version of the game. In the original one, you started with three characters, Liam, the Hero; Amber, his girlfriend; and Kita, the Cat-girl. In this version you start out as Liam an must steal a kind of magic wand from a village. But the wand proves to be too powerful. The Village's elder imprisions Liam.
Liam gets thrown into a genericus dungeon and must escape the genericus way. Along the way I realised that more than any other VERGE game other than The Sully Chronicles, this game smelled and felt like VERGE. Maybe it's the music, the Phantasy Star storyline and characters.. or maybe it's because all the first VERGE games looked and played the same (that's it)... but I liked it. Old verge games were all the same, but that was all cool.. maybe even more.. I wish I could see more.
This demo was one of the first to use the "at-the-time" new verge-engine with Party move, Manga Scenes and CHR-change. The first time I saw this demo I was awed.. maybe because I suck, but it was very very cool.
I think Gd has some of the best over world graphics in any verge game to date.. I dont know what to write here, since it's been so long since the last time I played this game. This game is all verge stands for, making sweet short generic demos with cool music... and making us dream of something better like... Well.. there was nothing better.. Zeux World doesn't count because it's a side scroller.. so there are no better verge games than stuff like this.
When Liam gets out of the dungeon he falls into a cave and must escape that one too... Then he can reach the overworld in which he can go into a town or a forest.. In the town he meets Amber, his girlfriend and in the forest he meets Kita.. Let's forget about Kita.. It's better to forget about her.
