Resurrectra Tolemac
Resurrectra Tolemac was born the eldest child of Karic and Sorsha, a happy couple who had forsaken the ways of wild adventure for he quiet peacefulness of village life. Karic was a man of faith and instructed his daughter to respect all the lords and ladies of light. Sorsha was a practitioner of great sorcerous power and she raised her daughter to be well versed in culture and grace. Resurrectra loved her family dearly and had thought to stay with them in the village always. She and her sisters loved to hear the stories told by their parents, of the high adventure they had lives and loved though. Karic saw it first in his eldest daughter, as she stood out on the ridge gazing off into the misty distance, spending more and more time alone, dreaming of what lay beyond the world she knew. Karic would sometimes sit there with her , and though they spoke little the time that was shared between them was very special to them both. Karic did speak to her occasionally , pointing out directions to various places he had been, or had heard of. Resurrectra's favorite was his descriptions of the largest settlement he knew of , Wehnimers Landing. She knew the directions by heart, how to follow the river to the trail, then the coast along side the sea, then the road to landing. It became more then a dream and one day she awoke knowing she would set out for landing before the week was up.
Karic and Sorsha gave her maps and detailed instructions on what route to take. all her friends and family spent a whole day in honor of her journey. She promised to return after a few weeks. She awoke early and with the love of her family and her parents protective spells freshly cast upon her , she set out. She followed the river and came to where the trail was that led to the landing. After eating a hearty lunch packed by her sisters she set upon the trail. The route was uneventful, and she knew her parents had chosen the safest route for her. The trail ended just as Karic had said it would, and now Resurrectra found herself standing on a small rise just before a cliff that overlooked a great bay, it was the first time she had seen the ocean, and to her delight the sun was setting in crimson glory. Feeling the first sharp coastal winds cooling with the approach of night she decided to make camp before the final march into Wehnimers Landing. She knew it would be dangerous now, that she had to be careful, so she made her camp in some larger stones setting away from the coast.
The next morning she arose early and started to the Landing she saw many monsters, but they seemed to be plenty of adventurers to distract them while she ran through. Her first sight of the Landing held her spell bound, never before had she seen so many people, all moving with purpose and the size of the settlement was amazing! She went into town and got a room and visited all the sights, doing a little shopping and browsing. Then she heard about the problem the town had of Great big rats, Giant even! invading the sewers. She saw groups heading out going into the landings lower areas to clear out the rats and she thought rats? I can help with that! And so she did enter into the dimly lit tunnels below the landing proper...and soon was lost.. It was her good fortune to meet a fellow cleric and a very helpful one, Adamsrace. He showed her around the tunnels and brought her out into town again to show her other sights she had missed. He also introduced her to his friends and she soon found she had several men vying for her attentions. She liked them all, she was happy to have so many nice new friends, but only one did she give her heart to, as he adored her beyond all measure and never tired showing her his lover for her, it wasn't long before she was engaged to him, Strendor Soulrestor.
Together they found great joy and happiness as they hunted and spent time together planning there marriage. Although they spent as much time as possible together, she found herself alone sometimes. During one of these times she was in a tower and was exploring when she was accosted and treated vilely by a known rapist. Lifecon, she was not alone, this foul creature also raped Kaylexia. This incident was resolved, even the gods took part to ensure this man was fully punished. Kaylexia and Resurrectra became good friends as they worked through this terrible incident. Strendor and Resurrectra were soon married and spent many a great adventure together as their love continued to grow. Resurrectra met Megraill, Kaylexia's sister , and was adopted into the Megralls family. Resurrectra and Strendor moved to Ice Mule Trace where they have lived for many years now. They have a wonderful daughter, Snyri whom they love dearly. Together Resurrectra and her loving husband Strendor looked forward to a wonderful full life of adventure.
On one of the many return trips to her hometown, Resurrectra and Strendor brought Megrill to meet hr parents and sisters. Sorsha saw the similarity first and told Karic who realized that Resurrectra should know the truth. They wee her adopted parents, they had taken her into their home when she was found alone and abandoned. There had been an invasion of undead and many died. Then suddenly when the battle was at its worst, a stranger storm of many colors blinded everyone living, raising all those who had recently died and destroyed all the undead. When the people could see again, there was found a small child on the battlefield. The elders, who took quick steps to insure it was kept a secret, named her Resurrectra. When Megraill heard the story she was filled with great joy and it was her time to tell of her families past. She told of how the same day of the invasion a similar storm had occurred in her village, but instead of leaving a young child, it had taken one, her sister, Megraill looked excitedly at the stunned Resurrectra as Strendor said aloud 'could it be..?' Indeed it could as all agreed the coincidence of the storm and strong family resemblance to Megrall was to much to be ignored. With much joy Megrail took Resurrectra and Strendor to meet her other family and all welcomed her happily back.
Its been 22 years since I was married to Strendor my first husband; the happiness we once knew turned to sadness and the love grew cold. Many things happened to end the love we had. We had several children in that time all have lost touch or died in the great wars, but the fact remains we are still friends and will always be. The Wolf Clan in now dead, my sister who was the leader became senile and mad with power, she controlled and dictated what people would do, the family would fight among themselves split in half by her evil ways and the unity and family feelings were lost forever. When family members didn't agree with her or displeased her in some way, she would disown them and force them from the family. The Clan revolted against my sister and her unjust ways after several of such incidences, and now the Wolf Clan is no more, my sister left the lands. I left the lands in semi-retirement, its too painful to go on alone. I have depended on Strendor and the clan for so much, my husband gone and the family I once knew dead to me, it was too much to bare. So I have gone on to the nunnery to meditate, concentrate on my life giving powers, and to commune with the Goddess Lorminstra. One day I will return to the town of Wehnimer's Landing, but for now I quest alone.
I lived for nearly two years in the monastery, quietly reflecting on my life and the nature of the powers that had shaped my world. At that time I felt a need to leave the monastery and explore the world to continue to heal and learn. Soon, a man named Dagon Darklor came into my life and swept me off my feet. He quietly supported me, not asking for anything in return and not making his feelings known to me. Still blinded by the grief I had held for so long I didn't see it until a friend of his named Geshtai told me what was going on and the anguish Dagon held inside. I frankly told him that I was not ready for love and he made no attempts to force the situation, continuing on as he had.
His quiet perseverance took on a new tone with me though, slowly awakening the feelings I had thought forever removed from my heart. I again started to feel the beauty of the world and the kindness of a man's heart. He showed me the world, and together with his friends helped me to complete my journey along the path of Voln, something I had never completed in all my days before. He grew quickly in his powers, becoming a strong mage capable of fighting by my side against monsters far beyond what he should have faced at his training.
I have achieved legendary status within Elanthia, and continue to slowly grow in my skills. Dagon asked for my hand in marriage and married me within a year, his quiet self confidence bolstering me in my times of crisis. I have glimpsed the history of an old religion and feel to my bones that it is the following I was always meant to achieve. I sense a greater power, one behind the Arkati, who uses them as agents in a world not able to fully comprehend it. The Unknown God is the source of divine power, and we all have a measure of this divinity if we but find it in ourselves. The simple and profound revelations my years of study have brought me to a deeper understanding of what I perceive the universe to be. I contnue my journey, to look deeper into myself and the world both, to perhaps find my own divinity.
