HISTORY

1300 BC-300 BC: Carthage. The perfect society, an egalitarian paradise of humans and vampires coexisting in harmony and peace. Alright, maybe it wasn't quite so perfect, but it was the closest thing any vampire ever came to building a flawless society and it was all the idea of the Brujah. In fact, they didn't need anybody's help to do it and, damn, it was a pretty cool place to be, all told.

300 BC-300 AD: Carthage. Well, actually Carthage's absolute, complete, total and utter destruction. Blame the Ventrue and the Malkavians. Hate everybody. The Brujah get _real_ bitter right about now. Vengeance is the order of the millenium. Hey, Rome looks like a good place to burn.....

300 AD-700 AD: Well, Rome's gone and we're still angry. Its that whole Carthage thing. After all, the Ventrue still have cities and the Malkavians, well, they just didn't seem to care about Rome being destroyed as much as they just sort of laughed as the whole thing went up in smoke. Mainly, the Brujah are just wandering the land and trying to recapture the glory of their perfect city. Its not working.

700 AD-1000 AD: The Brujah are attempting to start over. They feel like prisoners of their rage, but there isn't a lot they can do about it. Having your perfect homeland devastated will do that to a clan. They still hate the Ventrue, but their loathing for the Malkavians has subsided somewhat, now they just see them as insane, not the insane destroyers of Carthage.

1000 AD-1175 AD: The Brujah are on the decline. Their standards for Embrace as the warrior-philosophers are being compromised (hey, finding a decent philosopher gets damned hard right about now). Fightin' Brujah are the way to go.

1175 AD-1250 AD: The Brujah are going even further down. Egalitarian society is a myth of the ancient past, fuedalism has eradicated any such drivel from the minds of mortals and so crushed the Brujah dream (yet another plot of the Ventrue...and those damned Lasombra...and maybe the Toreador...who knows? Hell, kill `em all...). Again.

1250 AD-1299 AD: With the Crusades raging (Ventrue and Lasombra flexing their politcal muscle on an enlightened culture), the Brujah have found a foothold; the common soldier who is commanded to go forth and die for no good reason.(Hey, fighting for the Church is great, but why can't I get any of that land?) The Brujah are learning to use mortal discontent as a weapon. If they can't get everyone to follow the promise of a better tomorrow, at least they can stir up trouble by reminding everyone how much it sucks today.....
