There are five major mission sets in this plug, and many missions.
Most of the major mission sets will start after you have a combat rating of Deadly.
The mission sets deal with the following:
•Pale involvement in the Civil War. Its is a major war scenario. Including
the precursor events and the events that follow the actual war, it's a 24-mission
scenario.
•The conclusion of the Lethe-Cydonia War. This is also a major war scenario.
It is 13 missions in length.
•A rather extensive smuggling-based series of missions. Including the Pirate
missions, it's about 28 missions in length. All rather short scenarios, but
interlinked.
•An Alien mission set. It takes a different approach in its 42 missions and
is not considered the primary mission set. It simply follows the story.
•A Mercenary-based mission set. This is a short set of nine missions which in
the end pay a lot of cash, makes two new outfits available, and a new ship. They're
rather difficult.
I urge the player not to ignore the stock EV missions. New weapons become available
following the Rebel and Confed Alien mission sets. Same thing with two of the other
missions where you work for the Rebel or Confed governments. And the Particle Beam
has gotten a face-lift. It does a *little* more damage and uses a little *less* fuel.
A lot of missions are available at the outset of pilot creation, so you won't be
bored waiting for the major sets to occur.

A few tips:
There are numerous recurring smuggling missions. Take them whenever possible, you
won't get a negative rating unless you get caught smuggling. And you can always
trick-out a Fast Courier early on to run the missions. And man, if you run them
right, you can make alot of cash.
Don't be afraid to head to the pirate worlds. You might be approached by Privateers
who need you to do a little smuggling for them.
