The two or three people overseeing the exploration of the adjacent system are
studying a display intently. Closing the door to the module after you enter, you
make your way in. The Confed from Virginia is the first to speak, “Look at this.”
It’s a sensor display of the polar region of the moon recorded by your ship showing
the electrical activity between the two planets. “Now look.” With the stroke of a
few keys, he overlays the Glomar Challenger’s record of the same region. “See how
far the interference goes out into space?” Yup. So.
"Now look at this." A stroke of the keys and another derelict hull appears. He
magnifies the display. It looks like an Alien cruiser. "It's an Alien cruiser.
Another derelict. Masked to your sensors due to the interference. There's only one.
There's more wreckage on the moon. Nothing discernable on the large planet. But
from the cartographic overlay made by the 'Challenger, some of the formations on
the moon match the hull content of the Alien. I think we're starting to see what
happened out here. We're going to salvage the ships. All of them. Get this data to
Pale IV. Deliver this brief to Frontier on the way out."
You'll never know when you'll need reliable bang-bang. Here's a sample of some
weapons you'll find in the outfitter.

Listed from left to right, top to bottom, are: static mine bay, 'Streak' guided
ordinance/solid fuel rocket (a small, fast torpedo) launcher, 'Sentinel' missile
system, plasma-fusion gun, deuton swivel cannon, proton beam turret, retractable
blaster turret, 4-cell VLS, and neutron missile launcher.
There are many more.
