I didn't catch the Larry king broadcast, being down here in Oz. I have read the transcript and agree that on the surface it does seem a bit odd expecting the Dalai Lama would be up-to-speed with the latest scientific "news". Interestingly enough, I have been compiling a list of web resources that go further into the Dalai Lama's views on China, anger, violence, optimism etc. You can find this list by clicking here And yes, I too question the use of the title "His Holiness". By implication it does imply the rest of us aint so holy. :) BTW, someone a while back was asking about Gary Zukav. He has a website which is well worth a visit - http://www.zukav.com/index.htm Namaste.

Hadi, I'm reading back and just saw your post (June 23 - addressed to Bernadette & Lori) re Deepak's repetitive message. Wow, very well said. That was a keeper!!
Hadi, I really think you did pull out some of the gems from the interview (you too, Carol). What really impressed my from seeing the show was how poorly prepared Larry King was. He obviously wanted to tie the whole thing to the latest breaking news story - the human genome project. It didn't seem to occur to him to understand the subject of his interview (the Dalai Lama), or to realize that not every well-known person is as obsessive about keeping up with the latest news so they can comment on it. I mean, I realize the news and current events are naturally what Larry's world revolves around, but that's not true by a long shot for everyone else. It kinda seemed to me like a bad case of tunnel vision. Personally, my theory is that there has been some "stuff" about the other times he's bumped Deepak and others because of some late-breaking story. So he decided to combine the two. I had this vision of, after his debacle of asking the Dalai Lama a question that he obviously wasn't even familiar with, one of the producers maddly calling Deepak and making sure he was prepared to talk about the human genome project! LOL And the other thing that struck me about the show was how much I laughed. Because the Dalai Lama was laughing and smiling, and it was contagious. :^)

Hadi well, one of the differences between what you "read" on the Larry King Live transcript was the Dalai Lama speaking, not writing. And not a prepared speech, but answers to questions. Maybe to compare his style with anyone else's written word, one would have to read his book ;-). I think it's called The Art of Happiness Having watched the show, I can tell you, the speaking style (that is so obvious in the transcript) comes from the fact that English is obviously not his first language. Actually, I think possibly his first language is happiness/bliss/being. J

Hello! Josie, I didn't have your new number, otherwise I would have called. Hadi, thanks! I seem to be fine today, so it must of been one of those days. I saw Chopra and Dalai Lama on Larry King and I found Dalai quite funny. His accent keeps me listening attentively, but the message was quite elementary. The ideas he brought across were simple, logical and profound. I like that Larry King has guests like Chopra and Dalai Lama, I think it is beneficial for the collective consciousness to be exposed to the ideas brought forth. I prefer "that" material to be on TV, but on the other hand, nothing new was said and sometimes I wonder why people would worship anyone, but then again we live in a society that worships Movie Stars, so I suppose there is no harm in calling Dalai Lama "Your Holliness". I was under the impression that we were all holy. Occassionally I feel that things get oversimplified and categorized as bad, good, right , wrong like in the example of the death penalty question. I have no set opinion on that one, but if someone visciously killed one of my loved ones, I would be inclined to wish they existed no longer, particularly to prevent it from happening again.

KING: Can't we get more Dalai Lamas? CHOPRA: No, you can't, because Dalai Lama is an explorer of the inner dimension. Science is an explorer of the outer dimension. You know what? When you see His Holiness, the reason he's His Holiness is he doesn't have a social mask. He's not putting on a mask. He tells it likes it is. He has the elegance of simplicity. Larry King Live

Sweet dreams. Namaste'.

During all the hype and glee of the Genome publicity it somehow eluded me that they were referring to it as "The Book of Life". Or is that just a Larry King spin? Perhaps they should read Revelations, which predicts The Book of Life being opened in the End of Days.
I was impressed also by this comment from Deepak. "There's a distinction between anger and hostility, and anger can sometimes be a healthy emotion. You release your emotions, you move on. Hostility is when you seek vengeance, when you want to get even. And in fact, it's now known as one of the predictors of premature death from cardiovascular disease, as much as smoking or high cholesterol."

Thanks for, I mean, the transcript, you see, for us Cableless, the way I mean, you see, dishless folk across the pond, you see, Kitty, thanks. What was the Dalai Lama on?! It's transcripts like that which makes me appreciate Osho and Krishnamurti. At least they were able to follow their own thoughts. Begging your pardon, your Holiness. Deepak was a bit more intelligible and when asked by Larry what God would think of the completion of the Human genome project, he had this brilliant answer. "I think God is doing it. I mean, the genome, the very impulse to study the genome, is already coded in the genome. So, you know, we are not studying the genome, the genome is manipulating us to study itself. It is God revealing himself through the genetic code of the four alphabets. It's the greatest mystery.

Silvia!!!! Inside out? I always thought you were just as lovely on the inside. Do tell, wassup!
Jeri - a great book to start with is The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success And if for some reason you don't like the word "success", don't worry. There's lots more to that book than you might think. I really recommend it!!

I share the joy of working in the town of Mount Shasta, CA. I am sure you have heard of all the special spiritualness of our area. I have been introduced to Dr. Chopra on the Larry King show. Many of the people I speak with here speak so highly of his teachings. I want to "get started" and not sure where to start. Please advise me of which books/CD's to start with to learn more. I am looking forward to your direction. Thanks so much, Jeri
Dear Deepak Chopra ! Thank you so much !!! Love Linda
The forces of Nature - heat, light, electricity, magnetism, strong and weak forces, and gravity - are the mind of Nature. The material universe is the body of Nature. Since I and the Unified Field are One in our ground state, I am the witness in the Unified Field, my thoughts or mind are just a different manifestation of the same forces of Nature that we call heat, light, electricity, magnetism, and gravity. My body is just a different manifestation of the same body that I call the Universe. Deepak ChopraEveryday Immortalitywww.chopra.com

Hi, all of you - we are reading Dr. Chopras books also in german ---but now we have a problem - the publication -Koerperzeit- Body-Time - is no longer avaliable in Germany, so we can not circulate the information - would there be someone, who could send us some used copies in English ?? WE are an NGO that helps humans in the South Pacific to survive. Love to all of you !! :) Helmut
What words could I possibly use to describe what a wonderful impact Deepak has had on my life. I have been reading his books and listening to his audio tapes for probably 10 years. His information has pioneered my journey inward and given me balance in this world with so much chaos. The love energy that I send him is my best way of giving him my appreciation and love which is forever and infinite. God bless you Deepak Chopra. p.s. That interview with larry king (6/26/00) was awesome.

Hi, Silvia and Josie! I hope that all is well! Hadi's posting of the Ashleigh Brilliant quote about forgetting really struck home here. Then Kereyra's response from the point of view of a daughter whose mother never forgot anything shed another light on it. Although I have short-term memory problems, I remember the most extraordinary details of my life and relationships with others. When I'm writing essays, such a memory is a gift. When I am dealing with my adult children, they consider it a curse. (When they ask me to be specific, I can.) I never know which of my memories is going to be painful for one of them. It's unfair to fault someone for remembering details. But it is probably a good idea not to share those details often just because they are remembered. Have you ever noticed that often those who say to forgive and forget are able to give you examples from their pasts about what they have forgotten? :-) Jen, the spider and the fly are one. ;-) Seriously, it is a little hard to argue with someone like Chopra when he says, "Think for yourself." Sounds like you may have already been caught in another web. Deepak Chopra doesn't post here and the viewpoints of those who do post are as varied as in any other forum. That just gave me the funny image of the lot of us trying to spin a web. What a disaster! Pax

I am a lighting retailer in Australia and recently some of my customers have mentioned types of lighting involving "full Spectrum" globes. I wish to be of assistance to my customers, but am unaware of such a globe, I assume you mean Daylight Globes (i.e. globes designed to simulate daylight) could you please confirm this for me???

Hi guys, it's been a while and in that while, well... if I had to make an analogy I'd say I feel like I've been turned inside out. I'm walking around with my veins on the outside. Some serious internal contemplation, since I'm inside out, I think it's showing.
Sittin' thinkin' sinkin' drinkin' Wondering what I'd do when I'm through tonight Some little girl will pass on by Don't wanna be alone but I love my girl at home I remember what she said She said, "My, my, my don't tell lies, keep fidelity in your head My my my, don't tell lies. When you're done you should go to bed Don't say hi, like a spider to a fly Jump right ahead and you're dead" Sit up, fed up, low down, go round Down to the bar at the place I'm at Sitting, drinking, supereficially thinking About the rinsed-out blonde on my leftThen I said, "hi" like a spider to a fly Remebering what my little girl said She was common, flirty, she looked about thirty I would have run away but I was on my own She told me later she's a machine operator She said she liked the way I held the microphone I said my, my, like the spider to the fly Jump right ahead in my web THE SPIDER AND THE FLY (M. Jagger/K. Richards)
*carrying large fly swatter* lol A Monday for playing games. Hmmm, I think Mondays are not usually for playing, they're very serious days...now, Friday, that's a day for games. Ashleigh, that quote about others remembering what you have chosen to forget, that's food for thought. Having been the object of my mom's recallings (noticeabley, the MOST embarrassing ones), I have tentatively resolved to not reminisce about my kids around my grandchildren. Not that I have any, the gray hair is premature! Wouldn't it be great if we each knew what the other wanted forgotten, or remembered. *walking out door, holding spider by the leg, depositing in nearest flowerbed* I'll leave the fly swatter, just in case.

ya, know. The "particle and wave" syndrome.

What right has has anybody else to remember anything about me,which I myself have chosen to forget?
Looooooooooveeeeeeee it Ashleigh!
