A spinning prayer wheel

April 1, 2001   '

Going over some old links ... re-visited that religious studies course ... Alan Altany ... yes, that's where i first read the quote about
"The farther you enter into the truth, the deeper it is." - Bankei

... and he has some interesting {you guessed it} ... links ... including an online hypertext edition of 'God & Science' ... {under 'Internet resources'} ...

... which in itslef contains many links ... including Online Literature Library - Darwin, Aesop, Carroll, Bronte, Poe, Milton you name it ...

... speaking of wonderland ... where I am often said to reside ...

Also amongst those old links - How to add a prayer wheel to your page

Really ought to update my photos page ... is it myplace.htm??? ... yep - one MORE file to upload!! ... {in the meantime - click on the version onmy hard drive}

Serene phot of people floating on surface and snorkeling ...

From my aussie photos links - this one has a searchable database of maps - cowes, flinders etc ... www.wilmap.com.au

Reading over a few more links/opinions ... that ET101 book is SPOT on - fear is like an infection and so long as most people are carrying the dis-ease ... hmmm ... and happily passing it along to their off-spring ...

From a Hungry Jack's competition entry form - www.birdsaustralia.com.au/birds/obp.html

From some old scraps of paper lying around on the floor -
"I'm sure that based on what you have experienced in this lifetime that probably seems like a perfectly reasonable thing to say." {about the experience of schizophrenia & how most people could never begin to imagine what it is like on a daily basis }

Sixty minutes - two provocative stories - one about guy whose daughter was brutally killed and he says he'll never get over it and ten years is nowhere near enuf punishment for her killer and quite openly declares if he's released he'll make sure he never gets the chance to do it to someone else ...

... yet I watch bits of it and another guy the total opposite after three daughters killed and rightly saying the forgiveness is for himself NOT for the killer ... and yet he does not pass judgement on those whose journey means they can't bring themselves to forgive but asks whether holding onto hostility is at all healthy and it really means allowing the killer to create another victim ...

Yet, the truth is the vast majority would never seriously contemplate forgiveness in such circumstances and thoughts of revenge would be uppermost ... and just 25 months ago I would have said the same ...

... and it's very easy to recognise and say that dwelling on revenge keeps alive the energy of hatred that has made human history what it is ... we have a long, long way to go ...

... oh there was more along those lines ... yet like MOST things, you can conjecture until the cows come home as to how you might react to such a situation ...

... ah yes, that was the extra bit - equanimity - it's a question few people ever explore much - just WHY are our emotions so selective - why does the brutal slaying of a stranger affect us one way but the brutal slaying of our own offspring generally cuts infinitely deeper and is in most cases totally soul-destroying. A human being is a human being ... hmmm ... like it or not {and most people would rarely if ever admit this}, the difference ONLY exists in the way we perceive the human being's relationship to us ...

Plus a story on gay parenting & one quote - 'what religion condemns a loving family' - damn good question actually ...

Click here for the story at the Sixty Minutes site ... and the emotional discussion such a topic invariably sparks ... and it links to Sandy MacGregor's website - he's the one who chose to frogive rather than hold onto hatred and anger and bitterness & revenge ...

Oh yes ... here is the Escher mobius ... it has other interesting patterns & 'mathematical art' ...

Sent email to Sami of 'SHINE' - mainly about tiny {but crucial} error in website listed in "Garden of Hope" article ... and gave a couple of links she may be intrsted in ... and saying I enjoy and keep it up ...

Scan the Gyuto monks from cover of the Dandenong Journal -

cropped section of the gyuto monks and the schoolgirl and their eyes ... clicking on it loads the full image - scaled up by 40 %

Mulling over SHINE (& other recent unexpected revelations!?) ... {see notes on sheet} ... plus ' love Thy Neighbour' ... {and is there much evidence that we have done so ... as a whole ...}

I don't think people are insensitive or uncaring. I think it's more a case of feeling powerless in the face of someone overwhelmed by misery. When someone is desperately turning to YOU to give them a reason to carry on ... what on Earth CAN you say? I mean a LOT of their arguments are hard to counter. The world IS in many ways a cruel place and if their depression is not just about their own situation but about the overall human situation it's hard to come up with a convincing counter-argument. Human history is ample evidence that by-and-large 'love thy neighbour' has NOT been the guiding principle behind most human behaviour.

... that gave me idea for article - 'love thy neighbour' ...

{Huge section sliced out and placed in separate file - lovethy.htm}

... still a work in progress ... mate ... and needs polishing {as do we all} ...

More mulling on that suicide article - Yet I know that for me personally, I never EVER expected that somebody would come along and gently whisper some well-chosen magic words in my ear and instantly I would see the error of my ways in how I felt about the state of humanity ... hmmm ...

April 4 to 6, 2001   '

Down to Cowes for a couple of days ... glorious weather for this time of year ...

As so often happens, two days seemed more like a month - quite a noxtalgic little trip visiting all those places we spent so many school hols ... but Seal Rocks SURE has changed! ... and to think we used to roam those cliffs {getting pecked by penguins} and stroll out to the huge hill and scramble down to the edge of the blowhole - all of which are now 'prohibited' ...

Scribbled a few thoughts down as they occured to me ...

"The fact that only a tiny percentage of the human population does it makes it look like a fluke rather than a very real potential which everyone possesses ..."

{People with rigid belief systems & universe will toss stuff at you ...}

"If all of this is just some weird cosmic accident ... why would you expect human beings to behave themselves at ALL ..."

{point scoring??}

"You have to realise ...

... that we have ALL lived for billions of years on other planets ... it's just that most of us don't remember ...

Okay, to the sheets ... and should ADDDD quite a few to my collection of aussie photos - boy!!! esp from 'freycinet sunset' which I only searched for after a description of penguins down there and reference to (a) Phillip Island was a bit over-the-top and (b) The sunsets were 'insanely beautiful' ... :)

... and then found this quote - "And you pray for Someone, please, Someone, please look after these tiny brave ocean explorers and see that they come home, always, to their home on the shore" at this site

Plus if you see the steep cliffs the waddle up to find their nests ... it makes you believe someone/thing is watching over them ... it defies belief ...

Today's Mantra: "Can we ever believe that our lives are so weird."

Ah yes, took '3 Christs' down to read ... and wondering what others will make of it ...

Much discussion on why people are the way they are ... could use the argument 'they are the way they are - it IS a big question - how MUCH of the way you 'turn out' is choice & how much is circumsatance & conditioning ... and how convenient is it to believe whatever we end up believing ...

Hell is being locked for eternity in a room with all of your friends ... :)

Oh yes, reading Education Age - about parents of kids who HATE school & do not fit in ... and parents distressed and made worse when they talk with other parents whose offspring happen to absolutely love school ...

'Meditation is not just about relaxing - it's about transforming negative habits'

On scizophrenia - 'Don't kid yourself. Forget about it. If you haven't experienced it {schizophrenia} personally you could never ever ever even begin to imagine what it is like. You'd have more chance of imagining what it is like to live in another galaxy ...'

Plus some animateed discussion on smacking & parenting & 'problem children' ... hmmm ...

{And I am tempted to say I often find such discussions VERY depressing because they ram home the fact that by-and-large the human race still acts like cavemen - we've learnt ALMOST nothing in century upon century. We speak of love yet we continue to treat each other like shit ... and we're amazed when a child dares to have a mind of its own and decide NOT to conform to such complete and utter nonsense ... or when they go stir crazy at being surrounded by such LACK of love ...}

Yet if you do have to mind 'uncontrolable' children what DO you do ... it drains you ... and so you don't enjoy it ...

It all absolutely RAMMED home how spot on lovethy.htm is ... sadly ...

... and if birds of a feather ... how can it EVER really change ... I mean if ALL you have ever known is people who do the same knee-jerk stuff ... you might very well assume that 'that's the way it is' ... it's almost a catch-22 ... I mean the teachers and the teachings have been around a few thousand years yet the number who actually LIVE the teachings is a TINY percentage ... so small it looks like a fluke ... rather than a very real potential everyone possesses ...

"Boy ... you're going to have an awfully tough life if you're going to get upset everytime another living soul behaves in a way other than what you would do ... a damned tough life ...'

{You're creating your own misery - MOST people throughout history have done the same ...}

"Freedom is relative. One could argue that so long as you are a physical being your freedom is extremely limited ..."

"Prevention is FAR better than cure ... we carry around all these negative thoughts about our fellow human beings and then we expect it won't impact on our health? ... we are quite insane ... {and have been for centuries} ...

"Misery tends to be contagious ... so does cynicism ..."

Plus discussion of St Francis (ironic after visiting James Twyman's site) and Tibetan Book of the Dead ... the usual ...

Reading more of 'SHINE' on poverty etc & the following thought popped into my suddenly crowded mind: 'Let's face it. None of us are exactly SAINTS. We all spend money we don't absolutely need to spend on things we don't absolutely need to do or have. All the while knowing full well that there are millions around the world who live without the bare necessities ...'

Yes, click here and scroll down to 'you are ahead of 500 million people in the world' ... {ONCE I get around to actually ...}

"What do I think? I think it's pretty ridiculous for ANY of us to sit around and sit in judgement on our fellow human beings ... but we've been doing it for thousands of years ...

"HOlding onto a wholelot of {negative} opinions is like trying to climb a mountain with a sackful of stones on your back. It's a LOT easier if you let go of the sack ...

"Well, the Buddhists believe that everything is the result of karma. So nothing that happens in your life is EVER an accident." {would wipe out the VICTIM mentality in one hit}

Interesting results from search of 'James Twyman' ... here

Molly pics from Mum's camera at her third birthday (she had a couple of 'birthdays' this year) -

Molly 2

Molly 3

Molly 4

Cute pic of baby kangaroo being hand fed with a bottle

The little jaunt does seem to have got my juices flowing ... quite an output of written 'stuff' ...

"Well, if YOU can't help being as you are ... you can hardly get upset at people for being the way they are ..."

"It's part of mankind's continuing insanity that we tend to get all upset & worked up if somebody else dares to hold a different set of opinions than our own ..."

Poems - assemble?? - here ...

Wrote a couple more emails - Walt Whitman - aboriginal culture & history in Oz - being more 'at home' with animals than people - no gameplaying or fragile egos - penguins climbing cliffs - childhood memories ...

"I reckon many of the people who go 'crazy' are simply those individuals who are extremely sensitive and cannot believe what human beings are doing to each other and the planet and the rest of God's creatures ..."

{One could argue it's actually the MOST honest reaction to it all}

Money & inequality - it would make you weep when you look at the LAME things we spend so much unnecessary money on while people starve - LAME means Luxury Addiction Military Entertainment. {Addiction on its own - gambling - food - drugs - possessions ...}

Idea - 'What is an opinion' - for Murmur - for front page - TONS in past journals & Forum - plus this - "The more I meditate, the fewer opinions I have." & "The purpose of meditation is to let go of your opinions ... especially those which are causing you pain ..."

After recent emails - should add dolphins to my 'Ideal Day Program' ... thanks Betty for the suggestion ...

Better remember to upload this scan of the 'The irony of all this is that I do not want your worship' section ... would blow a few people's minds ... :)

Book Reviews - more than just CWG

That penguin link - it has pics of phillip island & a virtual museum about the little tikes and the way they live ... ask question of our rangers ... and history of the penguin parade ... click ...

Doublethink - interesting home page as well as covering much of the classic novel 1984 ...

Added even more to Myths about psychiatric drugs ... which is in now included in my collection of Interesting mental health sites ... which I recommended to Sami ... has some stuff I do not imagine will be appearing in SHINE ... ... the myths themselves LET ALONE the links! esp this Antipsychiatry site with a whole swag of links & articles and the world-famous Antipsychiatry Reading Room ...

... and the HUGE implications that has for all workers in the field ... Szasz says, 'Unless the context calls for a restricted use of the words psychiatry and psychiatrist, I use these terms to refer to all mental health professions and professionals' ...

... and REALLY! unless you knew someone IN the system as a patient or worker you'd never believe ... what goes on ...

Cover of TIME magazine with the article on mood drugs ...

... then links at www.depressionculture.com ... to prozac support group ... mate ... 'mood molecule' ... and 'tampering with brain chemistry' ... send to Mum? or would that be more distressing than informative ??? ... then found one which is My first Zoloft - check out the other writing at this site - thoughts on the brain & the soul ... and his poetry ... and journals which he says are quite graphic ...

And at the weird site ... can subscribe for funny emails - 'real medical quotes' ... which led me to do a Google search for that phrase ...

That first person site has new stuff - poetry - opinion etc ... and prayers for those who opted for suicide ... and notes from 'survivors confernecs' etc ...

In all those sites I still have some quotes they don't ... 'Tiny minds fear whatever they don't understand.' ... {could replace 'tiny' with 'feeble' and 'fear' with 'attack'}

Plus this quote was there - 'For in truth to be able to help another person, I must understand more than him - but nevertheless first and foremost also understand what he understands. If I do not then my superior knowledge does not help him at all. If, nevertheless, I assert my superior knowledge, then it is because I am vain or proud, for basically instead of helping him I essentially want to be admired by him. But all true help begins with an act of humility; the helper must first humble himself under the one he wants to help, and therewith understand that to help is not to command but to serve ...'
- from Kierkegaard

{Also quotes from Jaspers, Laing, Huxley et al}

Added a bit more to Ultimate Journey excerpts - while looking for CWG photcopies ... VERY similar to my email sentiments - 'So the species as a whole remains unfulfilled and restless' ... and 'curiosity seekers' ...

Today's mantra: 'People give themselves no ordinary mentions'

Filled in an Angelfire BUG report Sunday morning ... it has been acting up a bit lately and FTP either inaccessible or highly dodgy ...

Finally replied to Mira about her book & myths & how most people would not have the foggiest about psychiatric methods & drugs ...

I'd say she'd find the LINKS in this file intrsting ... :)

The more I type up of 'Ultimate' ... boy! so spot on ... mate ... they ALL are ...

... plus the idea of 'Earth Life System addicts' ...

Plus 'the Big L' ... could send to the Forum etc ??

Plus the guy's writings about brain & soul {see above - the link about 'first Zoloft'} ... I may not totally agree but superbly conveyed ... though one MIGHT say that like me he sometimes goes for clever or stylish rather than ...

Today's mantra: "Mixtures. Mixtures. Where are the mixtures?"

If I did a book review of 'Ultimate Journey' for Murmur ... umm ... the phrase 'You may pack up your experience and leave whenever and for wherever you desire, with no censure or penalties from any source that matters' might be seen as condoning suicide ... hmmm ... esp when it is followed by 'Earth Life System addicts may not understand, but that is their problem.' ...

... plus 'Get through being angry at how the system works, the seeming inequities, the unfair advantages, the brutalities, the callousness, the deceit. It's a predator world by design - and it's a superb teaching machine.'

... and the advice to 'maximise your highs & lows' ... I wonder what psychiatrists would say about THAT ... maximise them TOO much and you'll be classified as bipolar ...

A rare event - I actually do a cleanup of some of the untidy rooms where I live {symbolic?} ... I find an old photo album with more dogs & people & places & me with beard ... will scan them in here as soon as I'm done cleaning up ...

Random 'dialogue continues to pop into my head. It's almost as if once you empty your mind of your own opinions and judgements etc you start to 'intercept' whatever is floating around ...

"That's the risk you take when you have kids - whatever framework of ideas you try to raise them on, there is always the chance they will develop the ability to think for themselves and reject the framework in its entirety. Admittedly, this is a small risk because in a world such as this one there are many incentives to become one of the herd and go along with all the nonsense ..."

More embryonic poem ideas - here

Added a few more photos to the William Ricketts collection - here

From playing around with that Random Buddhist site ... comes this site ...

Ah yes, some notes on revenge (getting back to Mum & sixty minutes guy) - "Revenge is a primitive emotional response. Oh the human race is primitive by-and-large. Sure, we've made HUGE leaps technologically but in terms of emotions most of us are still living in caves. An example of a more evolved being? Um, Jesus Christ nailed to the cross ...

... and ONCE you are shown the possibility of another way of being it's just plain crazy or lazy if we don't at least explore that option a little bit ...

Interesting emails. I (jokingly) say 'dont do anything I wouldn't do' and the reply is along the lines of 'WHICH WOULD BE?' ... and I actually do list a few off top of head - and the ironic/sad observation that the list has NOT changed since the time of Christ & Budhha but we haven't been listening ...

Yes the brief list I actually composed 'on the spot' -

'Actually it hasn't changed much since the time of Christ or Buddha but we haven't been listening. I wouldn't do the following (or at least I'd endeavour NOT to do the following) - pass judgement on someone without walking a mile in their moccasins; blame someone or something for the way I happen to be feeling; attach derogatory or diminishing labels onto any fellow being; labeling people or activities as boring or mundane; responding to hatred with hatred; ... those are the ones that pop into my head as I sit at the keyboard. And IF I did happen to indulge in any of the above I would attempt to learn from the experience and observe what happens when I do forget myself ...'

From watching Global Village - Monterey Bay aquarium - it's huge (the aquarium, I mean)

Photo competition - here - prizes?

- SEND nerve test ... Here it is! - tell Mum??

... um ... the LIST of winners is HUGE!!! ...

Interesting email regards the Forum & my (non) articipation ... it is ALL in the eye of the beholder ...

Meteora Monasteries

In fact quite a few emails from a variety of sources ... I often DO wonder hoa many people find my site and what they make of it in the vast regions of cyberspace ...

... I mean I have visited hundreds of sites & rarely leave an email of thanks ... so I can't very well complain about the level of 'feedback' ...

Replied to a couple of messages at that Healing Normality Forum ... and I can fully undertsand the level of frustration and anger ... and even some of the downright rage ...

Melbourne by Keeweechic - includes Ricketts and a lot of other attractions. It is some kind of city when you stop to reflect on it ...

From search of 'kids who hate school' - Nobel Laureates who hated school - great quotes from Tagore!

Plus short story competition - send a version of 'love thy neighbour' - more details on scrap of paper somewhere - do as sep file ...

A 'divider' in the form of a kite on a long piece of string

April 11, 2001   '

I get the funniest ideas walking around shopping centres (or anywhere that human beings congregate). For instance -

"No, it's good practice. Whenever you notice that you are becoming irritated or annoyed or feel the urge to judge another soul's behaviour or belittle someone ... to recognise the impulse and consciously refrain from indulging ... is ONLY possible by bringing into play some higher aspect of your self rather than your everyday reactive self. And ... practice makes perfect."

"Oh, I never wanted to be like everyone else. Normality looks so linear and uninteresting. It's FAR too safe and comfortable."

drawing by kids with simple sentiments about love etc

... to forum ...

Golden Books cover of 'Prayers for children'

Bleak old day but enough gaps to catch a bus and get to library - I ONLY went in for 'Visionary Human' to transcribe Bob Monroe interview as yesterday I mentioned the 'Ultimate' excerpts in a recent email :)

... it said 'on shelf' ... but no ... and being bleak I sat down ... with an Osho book! 'The daily meditator' - photocopied a bit ... and being bleak read a bit ... oh MY! even at THIS stage ... intro ALONE - send to Mum ...

Really sparked me ...

and 'Child of time' by asimov - great plot I have often speculated upon! ... it was moved before I coulf photocopy the plot ... oh welll ... about moving a 'neanderthal' 40,000 years ahead in time ...

... sitting - what do i notice? 'Prayers for Children'! NOT the Golden Book version ... TOOOO much ...

The meditations! - cut off your head - love magic - I wonder HOW many people 'do it' according to these instructions!!! - hug a tree - dont 'solve' problems, they literally disappear - peace be with you - real meeting - ... and I still aint read let alone transcribed 'Ultimate' ...

*** Is it in INTRO? - (a) Be prepared for VERY unexpected things to happen! & (b) Tell those CLOSE to you and that they should not be surprised if you respond in ways that are not 'normal' ... wow ...

... and Krishnamuti quotes - both! ... and pics ... I think Mum will enjoy at least browsing it ... :)

Plus this for Forum??? - "Come on, folks, the reality is that EACH of US already knows 'it all'. We simply created this dimension of reality in order to have the experience of 'uncertainty' for a little while. So, just sit back, kick off your shoes & enjoy the ride. I know I will." {This message is sponsored by

Yes, reading more of 'The Everyday Meditator' - the intro is superb - the 'scenario' reminds me of a couple of people currently dabbling with 'this meditation stuff' ... and it says you MAY get depressed and out of control! NOT many meditation books say that! ...

... and YET!!! in a society as myopic and fearful as this one ... sudden changes for no 'no apparent reason' ... can lead you into your local psychiatric ward!

NOT to mention the dynamic meditation whose purpose is to get all stored negative emotions to erupt in an explosion!!! ... scan the pics ...

...yes, it's not every day you read the following ina book on meditation: 'Go totally mad, scream, shout cry, jump, shake, dance, sing, laugh, throw yourself around.' ...

I fact found even more osho links - including MASSSIVE list of his discourses ... by the way here is the OSHO mediations so far transcribed ...

Ah ... paste HTM code into word for spell check!!!

From a couple of days ago - alpha brochure - website - MIGHT be worth a look though one does wonder ... and I DO have a problem with dogma. I totally resonate with what CWG says {GO along and introduce them to it??} about dogma - it is a fear based response. If you don't believe the 'right stuff' and approach God in the 'right way' there will be dire consequence. That is all based in fear and fear is NO basis for a healthy relationship with ANYone ... and to see your view and your approach to God as the 'right' one automatically means you have to see ALL other possibilities as being somehow 'wrong'. And that's hardly conducive to loving everyone equally ... hmmm ...

After Osho ... on train to book sale & Museum ... {someone beside me seems in need of COMPANY - Schwarz} ... "When the whole of humanity is so fearful & edgy it affects everyone. You DO hestate lest people misinterpret your motives & intentions out of their OWN fear ... that is why those individulas with genuine peace & warmth & CLARITY stand out like a beacon amongst the rest of us headless chooks ..."

Plus 'encourage the timid' ... from

The new Mind & Body gallery is superb ... should paste my description from an email I sent ... brings home to you how much we take absoutely for granted about the body's systems & how much goes on 'automatically' ... the body is a universe in itself ... that aint bad but my email description went into more detail - The Visible Human and all the images ...

From the book sale - 'cellular awakening' & 'Together Forever" ... which MANY people would find a SCARY thought seeing as how they struggle to last ten years or so ...

"Oh, if peoople want to think that I'm crazy, that's fine by me. I would probably think the same way they do if I had kept my mind in a TINY little box my entire life."

Wow! I receive an email from Gyuto House site and they will link my Gyuto page to theirs! - just after I sent mum an email ... I wonder what the monks would make of the REST of my site! :)

I said I'm honoured - I have been linked to mental health & poetry sites but NOT a buddhist site before ... :)

Their revamped site is - here

They MUST have a decent search engine! It does PAY to have the TITLE as saying what your page is all about!

Today's mantra: "Knowledge. Knowledge. Knowledge. I am the knowledge of life." {Repeat it twice in the morning and say it to everyone you meet while you're walking down the street}

... and ... lots of Osho at Forum - around 59,350 ... along with the sort of 'stuff' I left it for ... :)

The titles I got were -

{Though as I said to Mum, I could have grabbed at least a dozen more ...}

* ' A pocket book of Spiritual Poems' collected by Rumer Godden

* 'The Kung Fu book of Caine' by Herbie Pilato

* "Childhood" - an anthology edited by Kate Figes

* 'Unbalanced Poems' by Michael Dugan

* 'The Big Brain Book' by Andrew davies

* 'The extra-terrestrial's guide to the X files' by Mark Leigh & Mike Lepine

Interesting Michael J Fox interview - mentions 'big brain book' and other nice stuff ... :)

Kung Fu

Kate Figes

Rumer Godden - many results ...

"Actually, it's ONLY in a very, very LOST society that people feel this desperate need to fill every waking moment with activity & entertainment & distraction."

Scans of big brain book! - to forum ??

Cellular Awakening - into bunyip ??? along with a FEW recent ... mate ...

I can't help wonderin what Steve would/will make of all this ...} ... plus a downloadable eBook 'The Allies of Humanity' ... and a few more ... wait for it ... links ... like www.cluetrain.com & 'Using metaphysical tools to beat people up' ...

... one reader of the eBook said 'truth has a way of strumming the strings inside us and creating music' ... hmmm ...

Search of 'real meeting' and osho ... tosses up the same site with the Krishnamurti correspondence! hmmm ... here as well as this as the only two 'hits' ... the Osho commune looks my kinda place ... I wonder about the costs ...

Walking home from the shops, I composed this little message to possibly send to the forum

LENTILS make a VERY nice stir fry!!!

Watching a Faith hill concert on the telly ... and the audience 'hanging' on her every lyric ... I was tempted to say something like, "Yes ... but ... the reality is that NOBODY has the power to make you upset or unhappy or miserable unless you HAND that power to them. And until people truly GET that ... "

Easter egg hunt and a fine day for it ...

The following is courtesy of poking my head into the Forum a few days later ...

H A P P Y
E A S T E R

Before I left, I updated the list of photos at Mum's site - here. And if/when they get a scanner you can trust me this list will be greatly expanded ...

Some interesting discussions on coincidences & conditioning & meditation & anger & 'nobody can MAKE you angry'

... EXPECTATIONS & OBLIGATIONS ... emotions affecting physical health ... and NOT taking things personally ...

... plus the writings of Zukav & Chopra & others which I have found helpful ...

... and ancient Chinese healing methods & preventive measures like meditation & acupuncture & Tai Chi etc ...

I mean, when you really look at it, much of modern (Western) medicine is as unsubtle as the society it resides in ...

On the train, reading more of 'The Everyday Meditator' - the 'Minus Meditation' ... 'We never developed psychoanalysis - we developed meditation' ... reminds me of Lama Yeshe and Become your own therapist ... {check link}

Lemon Myrtle Shortbread - looks quite tasty

I really OUGHT to do a book or two ... dialogue & plots keep on popping into my head ... :)

"That's because you have this fairytale in your head that love is about protection. Genuine love has absolutely nothing to do with protection. The pain & trauma you are seeking to protect people from may be PRECISELY what they need in order for their souls to awaken. So your desire to protect them would actually be doing them a grave disservice."

The book opens to page 200 - on chakras - photocopy for sticking on loungeroom wall ... SCAN for my excerpts ...

Interesting philosophical question (I'll leave you to guess the details) - 'Thou shalt not kill' - is generally seen as applicable to your fellow humans ... but what about those of God's creatures we have decided to call 'pests' ... okay, one can argue they carry disease ... but EVEN that is debatable ...

Then a flick through 'Childhood' - yeah - so MANY authors - Alan Bennett '40 years on' & 'My left foot' ... 'The Sleeping Child' ... 'Everybody's Mother' ... 'Nobody's mother can't not never do nothing right' ...

Page 16 on parents lack of empathy ...

Page 9 on intelligence - 'On the birth of his son' by SU TUNG-P'O -

Families, when a child is born,
Want it to be intelligent.
I, through intelligence,
Having wrecked my whole life,
Only hope the baby will prove
Ignorant and stupid.

Su Tung P'o

"What do I think? I don't look for reasons to dislike people ... because no mater WHO we are talking about, you can always find SOME reason to dislike them if you look HARD enough ...

Need to take notebooks next year to remind us where the kids presents are 'hidden' ...

Plus my idea for painting wooden eggs ... because a chocky one tends not to last very long ...

"Chaos is fascinating. Especially when the chaos is within one's self ... why don't our minds/thought/emotions behave themselves ... "

{"I don't need respect. Only insecure people need respect from others."}

Yes, emotions & health - CWG is spot on - people carry around (and HOLD onto) anger, bitterness, guilt, shame, jealousy, resentment, animosity, hatred, prejudice etc and expect it NOT to have an IMPACT on their health ... people are CRAZY ... and have been for centuries ...

"Oh I'm not there JUST yet, obviously ... but I have glimpsed the way it CAN be ... and it is indescribable & unimaginable ..."

Plus meditation being FAR better than sleep ... as your brain is busy creating images and dreams ...

As {nearly} always, my cogs start spinning as I realise that at this point relatively few human individuals have ever dared think anything other than the conventional nonsense ... {which has NOT worked for centuries. so you'd think we'd get the message one of these days} ...

"We all love to think we can solve other people's problems ... but our idea of what they need may be the very LAST thing they actually do need ..."

"It's one thing to recognise the wisdom ... but to consciously act on it ... (and transforming ancient habits & responses may take a while ...)

"If someone is giving you a hard time, it's merely a reflection of their own pain & insecurity ..."

"Yes, KNOWING you can rewrite your programming does not in itself change any of the programming."

"Forcing people to be normal JUST does not work. For the simple reason that certain souls enter this dimension of reality for the explicit purpose of being anything BUT normal ..." {and you do have to wonder about the incredible insecurity of those who wish to force everyone to conform} ...

<font color=gold>love</font>ly pic from Rose's birthday in 2000 - Olivia & Rose in the kitchen at Bunyip looking angelic - the kind of photo that invariably evokes the comment 'Isn't it a shame they have to grow up' ...
