Welcome

Dedicated to
Random Acts of Kindness

One day while surfing the web I came across a RAOK web ring logo.  I clicked on 'list all' and entered a world I never knew existed!  I explored one site after the other.  Each was unique to its owner but somehow seemed connected.  All of them offered kindness and generosity to their visitors.  Finally I decided to explore the membership requirements.  I am not a poet, nor an artist, nor do I even know how to insert graphics (without it taking an entire day) let alone create them!  I thought I needed a special talent to belong to such a diversified  group.  Naturally I couldn't just 'read' about them.  I had to study it because I thought maybe I was missing something, but they didn't list 'talent' as a requirement.  It wasn't about that at all.  I was so happy to find a group where sharing and giving to others is the main objective.  It is exactly what their name implies; Random Acts of Kindness.  That is when I knew this group was for me.

I have met some wonderful people.  Everyone is always ready to help, support and just do nice things.  There is one tiny requirement.  Once a day each member must perform a Random Act of Kindness across the world wide web by signing a guest book, sending a greeting card, postcard or E-mail.  I have found this to be fun and educational.  I get to visit places I probably would have missed.  If you can spare a few minutes every day to do something special for another this is the place for you too.  You don't even need a web page to become a member.  You do need to care about others!
These are just some of the warm welcomes I received!

Before I knew it was time to celebrate Easter.  I made a Spring Fling page and had lots of fun doing that.  I even hid one of the baskets for the egg hunt!  I started out with a small page but received so many Easter goodies I couldn't fit them all on one page!  It is amazing how many friends have visited here because of RAOK.

I think what I like most about RAOK is the annominity while visiting other sites.  It is such an uplifting feeling to leave a cheerful card knowing that person is not obligated to send a thank you or make a return visit.  I thought it lovely when one day (before I joined) I had a visit from "Kind Soul" wishing me a happy day.  We work hard on our web homes and to have someone stop by just to say hello and tell us they enjoyed their visit leaves a good feeling.
