The original two-hour television movie aired on August 20, 1989. It was titled _Nick Knight_ and starred Rick Springfield. In the beginning, Nick was a 400-year-old vampire in Los Angeles, a detective assigned to investigate a series of murders in which the victims were drained of blood. And thus began the epic we now call _Forever Knight_.
