A few months
ago, my good friend Juan Vicente, professional cameraman told me
about what seems to be a criptid
in our country. (A criptid is an unknown animal, not
yet cataloged by science). According
to persisting rumors, in the beautiful VALLE
DE SANTIAGO in the mexican state
of GUANAJUATO, the locals have been reporting
the existence of a "monster"
who lives in the waters of one of the seven lakes of the
region, the one called "La alberca".
According with the tradition, that comes from the
days of the aztecs, CHAN is
a mythic god that lives in the lake. giving protection to the people of
the village. In retribution, the people bring presents to the creature
once a year,
in september. In the beginning
all this looked to me like one of those legends, so common
in the mexican old towns. A
manifestation of the local folclore to attract tourism to the
village. But later, the persistent
rumors about sightings of the creature in recent times
made me think that some of the
legend may be true after all. There was something in that
lake that deserved a closer
look, and maybe an investigation.
This is the way some of the people of VALLE DE
SANTIAGO,
in Mexico, have described CHAN, a mythical
beast.
So we planed our first expedition
to take a look at the place and in september 14 of
nice little town with a beautiful
cathedral, we started by asking the people about it,
and later on they show us the
way to "la Alberca". I must say that the place really
impressed me from the beginning.
There is an air of mystery and something ancient in
the environment that really
shocks you.
We started taking pictures immediately
and is one of this pictures, the one I show
below, that gave us the first
surprise. I started to consider seriously the possibility
of something strange living
in the lake.
HERE IS THE PICTURE:
This photo is made up by three pictures. In the one of the middle, you
can see an
strange "line", something like a track in the water. When we enlarged the
photo, we
could notice more details: it seems like something large, split in
two sections is moving
through the water.
The photo was sent to different
criptozoologists in various countries. 80% of the people
who saw it said that "It was
very possible that the thing swimming in the lake was a living
creature".
Interesting, isn't it...?
Unfortunately, when we went down
to take more pictures, a lot of people and two
boats got into the lake and
made a lot of noise, so we couldn't see anything else.
If there was something down
there, it was gone.
A new expedition is on the making.
The possibility, very extended by the people of
the existence of a tunnel under
the lake, connecting "La Alberca" with other water
bodies, will be investigated,
this time using hi-tech equipment like sonar and underwater
cameras. If there is something
down there in "La alberca", we'll find out in this
expedition.

I just got this picture by the
e-mail. The anonymus sender said it was taken in Guanajuato Mexico on September
6 of 1958 after an earthquake. I'm in the work of get it analized by an
expert. What do you think of it....? Tell us....!

We just came back from a new expedition to
the lake, this time using more sophisticated equipment, and some especial
cameras we custom fixed, and have some incredible pictures that show a
large animal living in the waters of the lake ¨LA
ALBERCA¨ !!!!!
