COFFEE CADDY INSTRUCTIONS...
The example is made using red, white and blue patriotic worsted weight yarn. At Christmas time, I crocheted them using those colors. It's a great way to use up your left over yarn. Use either 4 ply worsted weight or cotton yarn and H hook.
CADDY BOTTOM:
With Red, chain 5, join with sl st in first ch.
Rnd 1: With Red, ch 3, 17 dc in ring,
Join with a sl st in top of ch-3
(18 dc in ring).
Rnd 2: Ch 1, sc in same st, * Ch 5, sl st in
next dc, Repeat from * around,
join with sl st to 1st sc. (18 loops)
Finish off red.
Rnd 3: With right side facing, join Blue with a
sc in any ch-5 loop, work 2 more sc
in same loop, * Ch 2, skip next loop,
3 sc in next loop, repeat from *
around, ch 2, join with sl st to first sc.
Rnd 4: Ch 1, make a sc in same st, cont.
working sc in each sc with 2 sc in
each ch-2 space around. JoIn with sl
st, fasten off. (45 sc)
CADDY TOP
Rnd 5: With right side up and from the out
side, join White with sl st in any free
loop on Rnd 2.
(Note: the right side of White will be facing you.)
Ch 3 (counts as first dc), work 1 dc,
ch 1, 2 dc in same loop. * Work a shell
(2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in next free loop.
Repeat from * around, sl st in top of
ch-3. Finish off. (9 shells) .
Rnd 6: Join Blue with sl st in any ch-1 sp, ch
3, work in same pattern of 9 shells as
in Rnd 5. Join with sl st in 1st dc.
Finish off.
Rnd 7: Join Red with sl st in any ch-1 sp,
ch 3, make 2 more dc in same sp,
* 3 dc in next sp, repeat from *
around, DO NOT JOIN.
Fasten off.
Rnd 8: With Blue ch 18, sl st in top of 1st
ch-3 of last Rnd, sc in each dc
around, ch 18.
Finish off.
Fit the bottom over a coffee cup, tie the ch 18s through the cup handle.
