1 sc in 2nd st from hook and in each remaining st of chain, ch 1, turn.
Row 2: Working in back loops only (BLO), work 1 sc in each sc.
Rows 3 - 8: Repeat Row 2.
Rows 9 - 33: Working in back loops only (BLO), work 1 sc in each sc.
Row 34: Working in BLO, 1 sc in each sc.
Rows 35 - 42: Repeat Row 34 to your desired length, cut yarn
Weave in ends.
One of my favorite rugs that I've designed follows:
Using 3 strands of the same color of worsted weight yarn and an I or J hook chain to equal the width you'd like your rug to be.
At the end of that first chained row, turn. Work a dc in the 2nd chain from the end and in each chain across, chaining 5 and turning at each end of row. Continue making a dc in each stitch back and forth until you have the rug as long as you want. It is easy and is so nice to use all your scrap yarn! These are nice for in front of the kitchen sink and just about any place to add color.
Email me how your rug turned out:
