Why Choose Car Racing
For as long as I can remember, the only sport I have been interested in is motor sport. Having no natural aptitude for ball games, nor the stamina for athletics, and certainly not the physique for boxing or weightlifting, this was a natural choice.
From an early age I found I have a natural ability to drive and operate machinery. My trade was an engineer. I was drawn to British Short Circuit Racing and F1 Stock Car Racing in particular.
The main reasons being:
Because many motor sports require large resources of equipment and finance, many people end up watching instead of participating.
For some years I did not take part, as I would not race in un-competative cars, nor would I compete in the lower classes or formulas.
I attended meetings as an occasional spectator for a few years until, overcoming my fears, I started to build a F1 Stock Car when I was twenty.
I managed to build the chassis, but lack of support from family and friends, and the enormity of the task saw it remain at this initial stage.
