The first time out numbers were 6.86 @ 101 mph.

5/18/03 *** A lot has happened since the last update. Sorry for the lack of recent pics to the finished , all but graphics,  project. The ride is a real looker now, but no one has provided me with any good pics to post. Hopefully coming soon. Kendrick has improved his initial numbers, made some chassis changes, and tried a new cam with mixed results. A very condensed history below in his own words.

"The motor I started with was a 2442 ( 94 x 88 ) with 5.5" Bugpack rods ,Gene Berg crank, Superflow heads and a Kawell 61110 cam ( similar to an FK 10) . I was running 50% overdrive on my 2.3 whipple. It made about 16# of boost on the starting line ( 5600 RPM ) and 28# of boost at the end of the 1/4 mile (7200 RPM). It ran 10.58 @ 122 MPH ( 6.58 @ 106 1/8 mile ) .With that cam the motor basicly stopped @ 7000 ,like you hit the brakes. I changed the cam to a 270 @ .050 on a 112 lobe separation angle and it made more power at the bottom as well as allowing me to go 8000 RPM . Then for some reason that I havent figured out yet , it dropped a valve. What a mess. The next motor will have a roller cam".

With aspects of the valve train failure still under scrutiny the new roller motor project is moving onward. Current plans are to debute the new motor at a race in Puerto Rico 7/17/03 thru 7/20/03 with Ken Fisher and his Spirit of America car. Stay tuned.

UPDATE****Kendrick made the trek to Puerto Rico. The good news is that he has won the race! The bad news (for all of us here) is that he did not come home with the car. Someone just HAD to have it and he has sold it to a VW racer there. There is an up side for the dissappointed Team Magic members. Kendrick will take the funds and invest them in a new shop upgrade which will house the next Kenderproject. It is rumored to be a VW BUS!!!! And yes, it will be quick and fast!
