FLOWER POWER
You have stumbled into my psychodelic world of the Hippies
Here on this pages you will be transported back into the 1960's
So hop on the caravan of love, if you can catch it, and hold on tight.
Hippies were the last American innocnets.. who believed in a beautiful world of universal peace where everyone was free to do his or her own thing. They were dreamers who thought they had discovered love, and that love could cure all that ailed the human race.. Here was a group of people who got high, made love, and danced in a way that promised nothing but pure pleasure."
For everything there is a season, And a time and purpose for every matter under heaven. A time to be born, and a time to die; A time to weep, and a time to laugh; A time to keep silencem and a time to speak; For everything there is a season, And a time and a purpose for every matter under heaven.
"We are here to make a better world.
No amount of rationalization can preempt the moment of choice each of us brings to out situation here on this planet. The lesson of the 60's is that people who cared enough to do right could change history.
We didn't end racism, but we ended legal segregation.
We ended the idea that you could send half-a-million soldiers around the world to fight a war that people do not suppport.
We ended the idea that women are second-class citizens.
We made the environment and issue that couldn't be avoided.
The big battles that we won cannot be reversed. We were young, self righteous, reckless, hypocritical, brave, silly, headstrong and scared half to death.
And we were right."
This site does NOT condone drugs of any kind...but taking a trip on LSD, mellowing
out on grass or other forms of inducing altered states of consciousness were certainly
a big part of the late '60s and the counter-culture and the Summer of Love itself. Most
didn't take drugs to particularly get high, but rather to mellow, be social or get to a
higher plane (something not very true these days!)
The way we live our lives,
will be reflected in the way that life treats us.
