How and when does this work?

This is tested and works fine with Sports Car GT and the 1.551 patch. I'm sorry to announce that it is NOT compatible with the Visual Damage patch version1 from Simproject. since there are several problems with the Visual Damage patch and running more then 16 cars in Sports Car GT. Download version 2 of the Visual damage patch available from TSP instead.  New version 2.0 supports SCGT Service pack 3 (SP3).
Hockenheim, and Mosport support is not supplied yet due to limited space in the pits on this two tracks but I'm taking actions to make them supported with at least a higher number of cars then 16.

I do also suggest that you use any of Techwares framerate enhancement patches with this since more cars eat your framerate. Both SP3 and SP2 works fine.
You also need a pretty good PC to have all 24 cars in a race, I have a 233 PII, 192MB RAM and a Voodoo2 with 12MB SDRAM and I have problems with 23 cars even on the lowest track detail level.

What do i need to install this then?

You need the zip-file that you download here, a tool to unzip the file, Readmas 2 (instructions included in the textfile in the zip) or MASpuce or Masadelic (for you who use it I hope you can do without instructions) and some knowlage how to edit your players save file and the Matrix.mc in Sports Car GT.

What about the new add-on cars?

Well if you have framerate problems now with some add-on cars you don't expect this to better with more of them running at the same time, right!? ; >)

What are the most common problems?

A crash during first startup is very common for some reason even without the problems found below.
If you get a crash do at least follow advice 1a and delete the "~tempsvm" directory.

1. A very common error is that when you first start up the game after updating is that all cars are frozen to the ground with wheels spinning.
Also I have seen missplaced cars that fly around with crash recovery that does ont work and so on.
Fix 1a)
To fix this is usually very easy. what you have to do is delete the directory "~tempsvm" in \scgt\dat Take a peek inside the files
sometime and you will understand why.
Fix 1b)
You could also have corrupted the scene.mas while importing the waypoint files with readmas2. If delete

2. Sometimes the game crashes during first race load after install with the message
"Could not locate texmap file D:\SPEL\SCGT\WNDA5XX" or alike. What is common is the file that scgt cant find
"WNDA5XX" This file does not exist and has never. This seems to be a general error code when mas files are totaly messed up
Fix 2
Get you backup of scene.mas do a new copy and re import the waypoint files. You did backup I hope ; >)

OK Let me test myself then!
