My Girlfriend....

I remember the day when I was sending out Christmas cards last year. For no reason, she just came to my mind to include in my mailing list. This was rather (very) weird as I never talk to her for an entire school semester (yes, she is my classmate as well). There was never more than just a hello and never any conversation at all... But since I have so many cards with me, I sent her a card all the same.

I thank my stars above for my decision in sending out the card as we began emailing each other and got more acquainted. School started soon after and things progressed more... We got together for lunch almost everyday (with her gang and our good friend, Gwen) and we would talk for the remaining time during break.

Of course, nothing more advanced this friendship until the time when she told me she wanted to watch <Titanic and asked me if I would join her. Since no one else in her group wanted to watch the movie, I agreed. Though I had watche d the movie once before, this time was totally different - besides me was the girl who I never talked to in the past but now, we're watching a movie together (and alone, finally...) After the date (informally), we were really much closer...

One day, privately, Gwen came and asked me if I had considered asking PeeWei to be my girlfriend. It was at that time when I realised that she was right... Why hadn't I advanced more into this relationship? The next day, the whole group of us went to Marina Bay for the Chinese New Year festival and we shared our dreams and when I wanted to ask her the most important question in my mind then, we had to leave... Gosh! I was fuming mad inside but I did managed to secure a date two days later....

We went to Orchard Road to look at her clothes for the New Year and after that, the Botanic Gardens, where we sat and talked for a long time. We were sitting in front of the lake and when two swans came up to us, I used the opportunity to say the words that have been in my heart for a long time, "I like you a lot... will you be my girlfriend?" The silence that follows was inevitably long but after what seems to be months or years-long,  she nodded... Words can never express what I felt inside then for I have finally made her my girlfriend...
