A little about myself....
Okay, I know some of you guys must be vomitting or whatever after seeing that picture of mine... Nevermind... Actually, I don't know why I even wanted to put up this page but someone adviced me to so that you all will at least know who created this pathetic web page... In any case, I shall begin with a little intro first, huh?
You guys should know that I'm from Singapore and I'm 17 (going to be 18 in October). Though I'm only 17, I love (and I really do) music from the 50's and 60's and I'm proud to say that I have a whole lot of CDs from that era as my collection... Music is an important part of my life so I've prepared a special page where you can know more about Oldies from the 50's and the 60's. Unfortunately, some of my favourite songs are not available in the stores and I'm left with only old casette tapes (will be damaged anytime). So, right now, I'm very much involved in transferring these songs (and others) into the computer at the highest available quality and at the least amount of diskspace. I use a technology known as MPEG Layer 3 compression and to know more about this, click here.
Of course, just music all day long is boring so I'm involved with some other collections such as Watches, Currency notes and stuff, and quite a number of sports. These include cycling and badminton. Since a young age of 4 when I've got my first bicycle, I've been cycling a lot and throught the many years, I've changed my bike four times and now, I'm owning a mountain bike which was given by my mum for my 16th birthday. The most important thing are the friends who had constantly been around me during all my cycling trips like ThongYuan, KianChun (joined us later) or the Council friends during all the Road Marshalling duties in Secondary school... A grateful thanks to you all.
Badminton has a shorter history than my cycling experience but it forms a major part of my childhood and secondary school life as well. In my secondary school time especially, my group of friends (ThongYuan, KianChun, ZhiSheng, Jerome, Kwok Lek in recent times) and I would always meet to play in the evenings at a very regular interval (even before exams or tests...) and we are continuing this up till today, though at less regular intervals... Nevertheless, I want to express that I really appreciate their company all these while.
You see, I'm an only child and yes, I know it is very fortunate and I agree to it but I lack something more important in my childhood and that is a brother or a sister to quarrel with, to fight with. Knowing these friends have more more or less filled up some of this emptiness and not to forget my girlfriend who has accompanied me in the last few months, Thank You ALL really for being so understanding and caring.
I've mentioned my Secondary school a few times and if you do not know, I was from Maris Stella High School, Singapore and this is indeed the place where I spent most of my childhood days (since I was enrolled in the Primary section as well) Back then, we joined several ECAs (some of which are compulsary) like Students' Council, Badminton, Taekwondo, Canoeing, Library (I know this is a nerdy ECA), Calligraphy (another nerdy ECA) and some others... Oh yah, my school is surrounded by cemeteries (no joke) and really, everyday walking the long road to school (up the hill somemore) is an adventure. In case you don't know where it is, it's somewhere near SPCA at Mount Vernon Road (off Bartley Road) take a bus down and look at the spooky school (158, 152, 93).... They've renovated the place a bit and it's really nice... Too bad I didn't get the chance to use the new facilities there.
Now, I'm in Temasek Polytechnic, School of Business pursuing first, a pass in my first year and then, hopefully a Diploma in Logistics and Operations Management. Not forgetting my favourite sport - Badminton, I'm in the school team now... training hard for the coming tournaments. But, the greatest thing that has happened to me in school (Temasek Poly) is that I have found my dream girl...PeeWei.
I hope that you all hadn't fallen asleep reading this whole lot of words and I wanna thank YOU for visiting this site... Please, tell me your comments. Oh yah, if you have ICQ, you can feel free to add me to your contact list at UIN 4466739 or email me... Thanks again!
Sincerely,
Dennis Wong
