The Round Lake, IL Fire Dept fights a house fire, deep snow and the cold as
tempatures dropped below zero. Ice with snow on top of it made venting the roof very dangerous. Round Lake Engine Company 2623 responded from this fire to assist the Fox Lake, IL Fire Dept. with another house fire in Fox Lakes district. (Note the icy roads - Photos of that fire are below) |

The Fox Lake, IL Fire Dept was called to the scene of a house fire. Firefighters
had to deal with heavy smoke conditions, below zero temperatures, deep snow and no fire hydrants. Fox Lake firefighters made an attack and found heavy fire in the basement. A Round Lake Engine Company pulled a 2nd line and joined in the attack. The fire burnt into the walls and made its way into the upstairs but was quickly extinguished. Tankers responded from Lake Villa, Grayslake, Antioch and an Engine from Wauconda. (Note the steam coming from the porta-tank after being exposed to the frigid air) |
