Some time back, I posted a request for info on what might be causing the *chatter* I was experiencing
in first gear, after I changed my clutch cable, due to breakage while riding. I got responses from
four people, Jim, Loner and two others, to whom I apologize, for not recalling thier names. The closest
response to the actual issue was someone said there needed to be a slight bow in the first twelve inches of
cable as it leaves the clutch. What I didn't know was that there had been a long metal tube that extended
from the clutch, which broke off when the original cable snapped while riding. I couldn't figure out how
to get the sway to the cable so took her back to my mechanic. He informed me about the tube, welded on
a new one, and chatter was all gone. So thanks for all the advise and hope my experience will help someone
else out.
