Recently rebuilt TYPE IV Bus Engine makes strange "Chirping sound" at idle (warm engine).
Sound is a 1:1/Rev, a repeating, CHIRP! - a metallic "scraping?" like a rotating part which makes occasional contact with a piece of sheet metal.

Not apparent when first started but, when engine gets warm it is quite audible.

SOUND DOES NOT come through the oil breather or the filler pipe, not backfire through the carb or afterfire through the muffler.
Is not a "THUD" like a big end bearing , nor a "tick, tick, tick" like a con rod.
Engine has less than 3 hours on the rebuild. Has good oil pressure. Clutch releases well and does not drag.

It sounds kind'a like e noise made when a front brake rotor and caliper pad are "squeeking" due to too much wear..BUT this is when the vehicle is parked at idle.

If engine speed is reved up it "Chirps " faster, in time with the RPM.

Thought it might be the cooling fan rubbing on the cast blower housing but that is not it.
It is too slow to be an alternator bearing going out????

1. What to look for??? Is it dangerous to drive/run engine?
