Recently rebuilt TYPE IV Bus Engine makes strange "Chirping sound" at idle (warm engine). Not apparent when first started but, when engine gets warm it is quite audible. SOUND DOES NOT come through the oil breather or the filler pipe, not backfire through the carb or afterfire through the muffler. It sounds kind'a like e noise made when a front brake rotor and caliper pad are "squeeking" due to too much wear..BUT this is when the vehicle is parked at idle. If engine speed is reved up it "Chirps " faster, in time with the RPM.
1. What to look for??? Is it dangerous to drive/run engine? |
