Painting My Trike..

Welding almost complete. Use a Mig welder to keep metal
warping to an absolute minimum.
Used body filler to fill any uneven parts.
It's a good idea to use a guide coat to make sure you get
a perfect straight panel. Spray a fast drying paint onto the
filled panel. Use a long board to sand..
Any low spots show up like this.. The paint stay's
in the lower areas. Filler is required to straighten it
out. Repeat if necessary.
The tank, after a day of drying time was block
sanded with 400 wet. I made a fiberglass mold
with a plastic mask, I poured fiberglass resin into
the mask and let it set for about an hour. I removed the
plastic and ended up with the fiberglass mold.
The small faces above are imprints of our christmas
Angle, sorry Angelica. Then I brushed some fiberglass
resin on top of the tank and placed the molds where
I wanted them. I taped them in place and let everything
dry until the next day.
There, voila, filled, primed and perfectly straight.  The rear panel, rusty, needs to be sandblasted.
I sanded the now dry tank and sprayed an additional coat
of Epoxy primer over everything..
The faces where than covered with gold leave and a
crackle medium was applied for an 'old' effect. The
background was sprayed free hand.
The 'Alien' effect was archived by 'blotching' some
white paint with a plastic bag onto the panel.
A variety of purple shades of transparent acrylic paint
is than sprayed over the white effect.

Black is used to give everything the desired shape... The finished and clear coated product including
the cut out for the cassette player.
Close-up of the "Species" inspired faces. Mounted on the trike.. looks cool!! The rest of the
trike is painted in the same manner.
