Nic's 1987 Shelby CSX
This car is a 1987 CSX #033 and it is undergoing a restoRACEtion process at this time. It was
found in an employee parking lot at a casino in Tunica, Mississippi. There were 140,000+ miles
on the odometer. The interior was completely shot. The paint was almost completely gone. The
front bumper cover was barely attached.  And...... the headgasket was blown.

Because of the very poor overall condition and the very high mileage, Nic decided to go
the restoRACEtion route instead of a true complete restoration.

So if you are a purist......stop right here and go elsewhere.......

Here is a picture of the engine compartment. You'll notice the hand polished intake
manifold. The bottom edge shows the custom Griffin radiator.  This radiator combined
with Evans coolant has proven to be VERY efficient (at least thus far). I have witnessed the
car idling for over 15 minutes and the temperature never went much higher than about 185
(it has a 180^ thermostat) and the fan never came on.

Here is a picture of the intercooler. It is roughly 3.5 times the size of a stock intercooler.
The radiator is slightly visible here as well. The catch can to the left is attached to a
crankcase vent Nic welded into the oil pan, which has a custon windage tray. (Sorry no pics!)

Here's a closeup of the manifold. Note the t-bar clamps on the
throttle body. (No hose blow-offs expected here!!)

Here is another shot of the front of the engine compartment.

The driver's side view of the engine.

The passenger's side of the engine compartment. Notice the hose barbs tapped into
the end of the manifold. The A/C bracket was cut down. There is an additional knock sensor
mounted in one of the "leftover" holes in the head. (Its got the white wire coming out of it.)

Here is a closeup of the manifold.

Here is a shot of the Deltagate external wastegate. There is a replica of the FM header
hiding under there, as well as, a custom turbo.

Here is the Cartech rising rate of gain fuel pressure regulator. Nic is using 52 lb/hr injectors at a low baseline pressure and the Cartech provides fuel for higher boost levels.

Here's the view from the driver's seat. Gauges include: two Cyberdyne air/fuel mixture,
an EGT gauge, a 30psi boost, oil pressure, oil temp, water temp and a fuel pressure.

Here is the driver's seat.

This is a frontal view. The lower airdam has been enlarged to allow as much of that
massive intercooler to be exposed as possible.

A current view of the engine compartment.

The right side.

The left side.

Nic is currently working on a header to replace the TBI-style one that is on the car.
